For hamster scaping enthusiasts, a fresh plant in their enclosure is naturally extra special. Cat grass instantly creates a fresh, natural look and invites animals to sniff, pick, and explore at their own pace. Especially in a naturally designed enclosure, a real plant adds more variety and a vibrant feel.

If you use a soil-based substrate, such as humus , you can plant cat grass directly in a planting zone. This gives the plant a prominent spot in the landscape, and the animals can walk past it, sniff it, or take small tufts. The rate at which the plant is eaten varies by species. Hamsters and mice tend to be more relaxed, while gerbils tend to be more inquisitive.

You can also place cat grass in its original pot or in a separate bowl in the enclosure. This is convenient if you want to remove the plant from the enclosure occasionally to allow it to grow further. Watering is best done with a plant sprayer .
