Product description

Fresh ORGANIC Sorrel Plant for rodents & rabbits!

The Sorrel Plant is a valuable source of vitamins for rodents. The compact growing sorrel 'Little Red Pixie' is also very decorative because of the red vein. An adapted diet applies to sorrel. The smaller the rodent, the smaller the portion should be. Always place the plant in the enclosure for a short time (depending on the eating behavior of the animals) or cut off pieces of the plant in order to feed it fresh. Sorrel requires little further care. The main thing is not to let the soil dry out.

Plant fibers support digestion

Is a decorative houseplant

A great advantage of the plants is that the vitamins and minerals, in contrast to the dried plants, are better preserved. The fresh plants are therefore much richer in nutrients than the dried plants and herbs. It is good to know that the plants are in optimal conditions with us and we take care of them very consciously so that the plants also remain rich. Our purchasing policy has also been adjusted so that we only have fresh plants in our range. We set high standards!

All plants available with us are suitable for rodents. However, the plants all have their own special properties. The thyme plant smells wonderfully fresh and is good for the respiratory tract, the chamomile plant has a calming and antibacterial effect, the blood sorrel has a blood purifying effect and the balm is a source of vitamins and minerals, but also has a delicious lemon scent. In short, all plants have their own special properties, colors and shapes.

Cat grass is well known in cats. This grass species helps the cat to remove hairballs, but other animals such as birds and turtles also benefit from real natural plants.

In terms of application, it differs per rodent. The plants can be placed in the house in its entirety, but can also be presented in pieces. In the latter case, cut off pieces of the leaf and give that to your rodents. If you put the plant in its entirety in the enclosure, make sure that at least 3 cm of the plant remains. Then remove the plant from the enclosure to let it grow again. The plant can also occasionally be placed as a snack in the accommodation, for example fifteen minutes a day.

The heart of the hamster scaper is now beating faster, because a fresh plant in the enclosure is of course the ultimate natural decoration of the hamster-caped enclosure. We can actually go in all directions depending on the ground cover. If you use a "soil" -like ground cover such as humus, you could choose to plant the plants directly in the ground. The carrots will then continue to grow in the ground. This way you have a perennial in the house. How quickly the animals eat the plant depends on the rodent species. Mice, Dwarf Hamsters and Hamsters often take it easy on the plants. Gerbils on the contrary, nibble at it faster.

You can also choose to place the plant in a pot in the enclosure when hamster scoping. An advantage of this is that it is easier to remove the plant from the accommodation to let it grow.

The plants are therefore nutritious, healthy and also have a very nice decorative function, but there is something we should not forget. The plants promote the natural behavior of rodents. In the wild, rodents are mainly looking for food and rabbits are actually eating all day long. Herbovores (plant-eating animals) have a gastrointestinal system that can only work if new food is constantly being eaten. The new food pushes the old through the intestines, so it is also very important that rabbits have hay all day long.

In the wild, the animals choose their own diet, but a large part of the diet consists of fresh plant parts. These are chosen for their fiber, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, proteins, but also for their medicinal effect. Many plants are known for their health-promoting properties. The animals know that like no other and also in the wild they instinctively look for the right plant for an ailment.

Pour moderately: the bale should never dry out completely.
If it does happen, it does not matter: the wilted plant recovers quickly. Temperatures between 18 ° C and 25 ° C are optimal, cool locations below 10 ° C should be avoided.
