The botanical name Chlorophytum is derived from the Greek terms chloros = yellowish green and phyton = plant. The green lily is not only a beautiful houseplant, but also popular with cats and rodents because of its sturdy leaves. Even birds and terrarium inhabitants love to nibble on the plant. The high water content of the leaves probably contributes to their popularity: the leaves serve as water storage organs. With this trick, this plant can also easily survive 'thirsty days'. So you don't need very green fingers for this plant!

HAMSTERSCAPING WITH REAL PLANTS
The hamster scaper's heart will now beat faster, because a fresh plant in the enclosure is of course the ultimate natural decoration of the hamster scaping enclosure. We can actually go in any direction with this, depending on the ground cover. If you use a "soil"-like ground cover such as humus , you could choose to plant the plants directly in the ground. The roots will then continue to grow in the ground. This way you have a perennial plant in the enclosure. How quickly the animals eat the plant depends on the rodent species. Mice, dwarf hamsters and hamsters often take it easier with the plants. Gerbils, on the other hand, are more likely to nibble on them.
When hamster scaping, you can also choose to place the plant in a pot in the enclosure. An advantage of this is that the plant can be more easily removed from the enclosure to allow it to grow. Watering is best done with a plant sprayer .

Mooie biologische plantjes!
- Snelle verzending en mooie planten. Super fijn dat ze biologisch zijn voor mijn katten!
- 1 van de 2 plantjes was ondersteboven in het vakje in doos gezet, daardoor overal potgrond en geknakte slappe blaadjes :-(

Wat is dit geweldig..ik zag deze plant een keer in n videofilmpje van Marika van de russische dwerghamster op utube en dacht meteen..dat wil ik ook. Geweldig om een jungle in mn hamsterhok te maken dus ik naar het tuincentrum. Maar eenmaal daar was ik toch n beetje bang om de verkeerde plant te kopen. Zometeen koop je n giftige plant die er precies op lijkt en nu weet ik tenminste zeker dat het veilig is. Het zou leuk zijn als er ook van die verse plantjes van knaagdierengras komen..daar heb je ook van die weelderige van met lange slierten. Het liefst in hele superkleine potjes die je gemakkelijk overal tussen kunt verwerken en in kunt graven. Ik zeg..doen :)
