Product description

JR Farm Mini Meadow Play Balls for Rodents & Rabbits

JR Farm Mini Meadow Play Balls are small, natural play and chew balls made of untreated willow. The balls are light, round, and easy to move, allowing your animal to roll, push, pull, investigate, and chew on them.

These willow balls are especially nice for owners looking for simple, natural enrichment for the enclosure. You can place them loosely, mix them in with the bedding, or use them in a foraging corner. Some animals roll with them, others nibble on them or use the ball as a small part of their decor.

At DRD, when it comes to toys and chewing materials, we focus primarily on natural use: can your animal be occupied with it, does it fit safely in the enclosure, and does it encourage exploration? These mini meadow play balls are small, natural, and versatile, making them easy to combine with other forms of enrichment.

Why choose JR Farm Mini Pasture Play Balls?

These mini willow balls are ideal when you want to add a small, natural activity to the enclosure. They take up little space but give your animal something to explore. A ball can be pushed, moved, sniffed, nibbled, or taken to a favorite spot.

Willow is a popular natural gnawing material. The braided structure makes the balls interesting, because your pet doesn't just get a smooth piece of wood, but a small object with openings, edges, and various gripping points. That makes it extra fun to pull on and nibble.

For hamsters, dwarf hamsters, mice, and gerbils, the balls fit nicely into a natural setup with bedding, tunnels, cork, and foraging spots. For rats and dwarf rats, the balls can be used as lightweight gnawing and play elements in a Ratscaping setup. For guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, they are particularly suitable as small willow gnawing balls.

You can also use the balls to make snack time more fun. For example, place a small, matching treat, a sprig of herbs, or a piece of dried plant material between the openings. This way, your animal has to search, and a simple ball immediately becomes a small foraging activity.

For which animals are these play balls suitable?

JR Farm Mini Meadow Play Balls are suitable as natural play and chew balls for rodents and rabbits. Always adjust usage to the size, strength, and play style of your animal.

  • Mouse: suitable as a small play and chew ball in the enclosure.
  • Dwarf hamster: suitable as a natural landscaping element to explore, push, and nibble on.
  • Hamster: nice as a small willow ball in a natural-looking setting or foraging corner.
  • Gerbil: suitable as a gnawing and destroying element; gerbils can be actively engaged with willow.
  • Dwarf Grate: suitable as a light snack ball and as a small enrichment in the enclosure.
  • Rat: suitable as a natural gnawing and play element; also fun in combination with foraging snacks.
  • Guinea pig: suitable as a small willow ball to nibble on and explore.
  • Rabbit: suitable as a small willow chew ball; especially nice as extra natural chewing material.
  • Chinchilla: suitable as a small willow ball to nibble on and explore.
  • Degu: suitable as a natural gnawing and play element; degus can be actively engaged with willow.

Usage & placement

Place one or more play balls loosely in the enclosure. You can place them in an open area, near a tunnel, in a foraging corner, or partially hidden in the bedding. This way, your animal can find, move, and use the ball itself.

Do you want to make the ball extra interesting? Then put a small amount of suitable treat material between the openings. Think of a piece of dried vegetable, a small sprig of herbs, or another snack suitable for your pet. This way, the ball becomes not only a toy but also a simple search activity.

The balls may be nibbled on. Check them regularly and replace a ball when it has become severely damaged, dirty, or unattractive. For enthusiastic gnawers, a ball may be used up faster; this is normal for natural gnawing material.

Use ideas

The package contains 3 mini willow balls. This allows you to offer them all at once or use them spread out.

Usage How to offer it? Effect in the stay
Loose play ball Place one ball on an open spot. rolling, pushing, moving and examining
Foraging ball Place a small snack or some herbs between the openings. searching, pulling, and poking
Scaping element Place the ball near cork, tunnels, or bedding. natural look and extra texture

Tip: Vary where you place the balls. This keeps the enclosure more interesting and your animal keeps discovering where there is something to do.

Composition / material

Untreated willow.

Analytical constituents

Protein 9.9%, fat content 3.5%, crude fiber 39.4%, crude ash 3%, calcium 5835 mg/kg, phosphorus 1795 mg/kg, sodium 100 mg/kg.

What does this compound mean?

These play balls are made of untreated willow. Willow is a natural plant material with a lot of texture. This makes it suitable for nibbling and fits well in an enclosure where your animal is allowed to explore natural materials.

The high crude fiber content is characteristic of willow as a woody plant material. Therefore, these are not candies or soft snacks, but natural chew and play balls. You use them primarily for enrichment: something to roll, move, explore, and nibble on.
