Read moreWhy a rabbit digging box?
Rabbits are natural diggers. In the wild, they build elaborate burrows with tunnels and chambers, a behavior deeply rooted in their instincts. Their bodies are fully adapted to digging: strong forelimbs, powerful claws, and a natural urge to work the soil.
For rabbits living indoors or without a secure garden, a digging box offers essential enrichment. It allows them to express this natural behavior in a safe and controlled way.
What is a rabbit digger?
A rabbit digging box is a sturdy box—usually made of wood—that can be filled with play sand or diggable bedding. The box can be used both indoors and outdoors and gives rabbits the space to actively dig, root around, and explore.
Digging buckets are especially suitable for indoor rabbits, rabbits in runs without the option of digging, and animals that need extra mental and physical stimulation.
From excavator to sniffer bucket
A major advantage of a digging bucket is its versatility. By removing the sand and filling the bucket with bedding, hay, or straw, it can easily be transformed into a sniffing box.
By hiding small snacks or herbs, you encourage active searching and foraging. This provides mental stimulation, extra exercise, and helps prevent boredom and problem behavior.
