The Natural Pet Brand Card N Egg is a bedding made of egg cartons in various colors. A unique characteristic of egg cartons is their exceptional softness, making them easy on paws. Egg cartons have an open, papery texture that allows them to absorb moisture very quickly.

This substrate can be used as a standalone substrate, but it also makes a great second (play) layer. This can be especially enjoyable for larger rodents and encourages foraging. We therefore recommend occasionally scattering treats throughout the play layer to encourage them to forage.

A second layer of Egg & Carton can also be a lot of fun for small rodents. Small rodents like mice, hamsters, and gerbils can easily dig through this layer. Scattering a few treats around is an exciting challenge for them to explore.

Did you know?
The egg carton pieces can contribute to cleaner rat fur. The soiled fur rubs against the egg cartons, which absorb moisture and thus clean the fur.

Thanks to the Card N Egg's powerful absorption, puddles are quickly absorbed. The wet pee corners are best replaced regularly for optimal and most efficient use.

Instructions for use The Natural Pet Brand Card N Egg

For small rodents as a top layer (Mouse, Dwarf Hamster, Hamster, Gerbil)
Fill the enclosure with standard ground cover and add a 5 to 10 cm layer of Card 'n' Egg on top. Sprinkle some treats throughout the layer if desired and allow the animals to display their natural foraging behavior.

For larger rodents as a top layer (Rat, Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Chinchilla, Degu)
Fill the enclosure with standard bedding and add a 10-20 cm layer of Egg & Carton on top (depending on the animal). Sprinkle some treats throughout the layer and allow the animals to display their natural foraging behavior.

For use as ground cover for rodents and rabbits
Fill the enclosure until the bottom is completely covered with egg and cardboard. A layer of 10 to 15 cm is sufficient, provided the bottom is completely covered.
