The 20 cm Wooden Seesaw is a fun surprise element for small rodents. Your animal walks over it, feels the seesaw move, and thus discovers in a playful way that something is happening in the enclosure. It is precisely this small movement that makes this toy interesting for animals that like to explore, create routes, and seek variety.
DRD always considers the function of toys within the enclosure. This seesaw is not a large climbing structure, but a low play element that adds movement and curiosity to the setup. For mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, and gerbils, the seesaw can be a fun route, a stepping stone, or a small challenge. Place it low and stable so that your animal can explore it quietly.

Small rodents enjoy it when their enclosure consists not only of a house, feeding area, and bedding, but also of small routes and points of discovery. A seesaw adds something extra to this. Your animal can walk over it, sniff underneath it, or quietly get to know the movement of the seesaw.
The nice thing about a seesaw is that the toy reacts to the animal. As soon as your mouse, hamster, or gerbil walks on it, the seesaw tilts gently along. That makes the product just a little more interesting than an ordinary wooden bridge. Some animals use it as a walking route, others as a moving stepping stone or as a playful object to explore again and again.
Thanks to the light wood and compact size, the seesaw fits well into a natural-style setup. You can combine it with bedding, tunnels, houses, bridges, and foraging spots. This way, you enrich the enclosure step by step without it becoming cluttered or overwhelming.
For rats, pygmy rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, this seesaw is too small as a functional play element. For these animals, it is better to choose larger and sturdier bridges, platforms, or enrichment products that are better suited to their size and strength.
Place the seesaw on a low, flat, and stable spot in the enclosure. For example, place it on the bedding, near a tunnel, next to a house, or in a play corner. It is important that your animal can approach the seesaw calmly and cannot fall from a great height.
Do not use the seesaw as a high climbing structure. The product is intended as a low play element with a moving effect. Therefore, do not place it on top of a platform or in a place where your animal could fall from a great height unexpectedly. The seesaw function is most effective when placed low in the enclosure, and its use remains supervised.
Would you like to help your pet discover the seesaw? Then occasionally place a small piece of food, a dried herb, or a treat next to the seesaw. This creates a small foraging spot and gives your pet the chance to explore the toy at its own pace. For this, take a look at rodent and rabbit herbs or interactive snacks , for example.
In a natural setting, it is not just about beautiful materials, but also about functionality. An animal must be able to walk, search, hide, gnaw, and choose. The Wooden Seesaw fits in well with this, as it can be used as a small route or a moving play element.
For hamsterscaping, you can use the seesaw alongside a tunnel, sand bath, or house. For gerbilscaping, it is primarily a fun wooden object that can become part of the digging and gnawing environment. Make sure to set it up securely and check regularly to ensure it is still standing properly.
The seesaw is made of light wood and therefore blends in nicely with the natural materials in the enclosure. Wood can show signs of wear from rodents, especially those that like to gnaw. This is typical of natural toys, as long as the product remains neat and safe to use.
The Wooden Seesaw works best as part of an enclosure with multiple routes, hiding places, and play opportunities. Combine it, for example, with tunnels, houses, bedding, and small foraging spots.
Offer the seesaw under supervision and check regularly for wear, loose parts, sharp edges, or damage. Remove the product from the enclosure if it is chewed on too much or no longer functions stably.
Place the seesaw low and stable. Due to the moving effect, this product is primarily suitable as enrichment on the floor of the enclosure, not as a high climbing element. This way, your animal can discover the movement calmly, and use remains pleasant and manageable.
Yes, the seesaw is suitable for dwarf hamsters. Place it low and stable in the enclosure, for example as a route or a small surprise element in the setup.
Yes, mice can use the seesaw as a small play element, pathway, or stepping stone. Make sure it is positioned low and cannot tip over in an awkward spot.
For many hamsters, the seesaw can be suitable as an extra play element. For larger Syrian hamsters, however, check carefully whether the width of approx. 8 cm is comfortable for your animal.
Yes, gerbils can use the seesaw as a wooden play and exploration object. Keep in mind that gerbils can gnaw enthusiastically, which means the wood may show signs of wear more quickly.
No, this seesaw is intended as a low play element with a moving function. Therefore, do not use it as a high climbing structure, but place it on a stable spot on the ground.
Yes, rodents can gnaw on wooden toys. However, check the product regularly and replace it if sharp edges, loose parts, or excessive damage occur.
The 20 cm Wooden Seesaw is a fun choice for owners who want to add a little more movement and surprise to the enclosure of mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, or gerbils. By placing it low and stable, you easily add extra playtime, a small route, and an interesting point of discovery to the setup.
