The Trixie Playground Frida is a spacious wooden playground and hiding place for mice and dwarf hamsters. The combination of multiple houses, levels, steps, and passageways creates a playful whole where small rodents can shelter, climb, explore, and rest. This makes Frida a perfect fit for a natural interior or hamsterscape.
Shelter is incredibly important for small rodents. Mice and dwarf hamsters are prey animals and often feel more comfortable when they have multiple routes and hiding places. The Frida playground helps with this, because the product does not consist of one simple house, but of several small spaces that together form a varied layout.
✔ Multiple hiding places: ideal for small rodents who like to have a choice between different hiding spots.
✔ Great for hamsterscaping: the wooden look pairs nicely with bedding, moss, cork, and natural materials.
✔ With levels and steps: provides extra variety in routes, stepping stones, and discovery spots.
✔ Open bottoms: convenient when you want to place the house partially on or in the bedding.
✔ Spacious for small animals: especially suitable for mice and dwarf hamsters.
A pleasant play area consists of more than just a little house and a food bowl. Small rodents enjoy pathways, hiding places, varying levels, and quiet spots where they can retreat. Playground Frida combines multiple functions in one product: hiding, climbing, exploring, and resting.
The Frida is interesting for mice because there are multiple passages and levels. Mice enjoy using routes and can actively explore the various houses and steps. For dwarf hamsters, the playground is especially fun as a large hiding and discovery object in a spacious hamsterscape.
The playground also fits well with the DRD approach to design: not just placing a product because it looks nice, but considering the role it plays in the habitat. Frida provides structure, shelter, and visual calm, while simultaneously serving as a beautiful eye-catcher in a natural scape.
Yes, Playground Frida is very suitable for hamsterscaping for dwarf hamsters. Hamsterscaping is all about a setup that looks natural and makes sense for the animal. A dwarf hamster likes sheltered routes, hiding spots, and plenty of choice in the enclosure. Frida helps with this because it contains multiple houses and passageways in one product.
You can beautifully finish the flat roof and the small platforms with, for example, dried moss . This gives a soft, natural look and allows the product to blend better with the rest of the scape. Combine Frida with hamsterscaping , natural decor , cork, bedding, and a sand bath for a complete ensemble.

The Frida can be great fun for mice, as they enjoy living together and appreciate multiple routes and hiding places. However, it remains important to always provide at least one spacious communal hiding place for social animals that can accommodate all of them at the same time. The Frida can then serve as a wonderful extra playground and route area within a well-designed enclosure.
For group animals, also pay attention to the layout. Ensure there are multiple exits, routes, and hiding places so that the animals can pass and avoid each other. This creates a sense of calm in the enclosure and makes the setup more pleasant for daily use.
Yes, that is possible. However, ensure the Frida is placed stably and check daily to ensure your animal is not digging unsafely underneath it. With deep bedding, a house or play area can subside if tunnels are created underneath. Therefore, when placing it on top of bedding, we assume a sturdy, well-structured layer and regular checks.
If you are using a thick layer of bedding, for example for hamsterscaping, press the Frida lightly and firmly into the bedding or place it on a firm surface. This prevents the product from sinking to the side or shifting unexpectedly.
The flat roof and platforms offer extra possibilities in the scape. For example, you can place a small snack on them, put some moss, or use them as a transition to another part of the setup. However, keep it low and safe: prevent your animal from falling from an awkward height.
For dwarf hamsters and mice, the flat roof works particularly well as an extra route or decorative platform. Do not place heavy bowls or unstable items on top if they could fall or shift.
It is best to clean wood as dry as possible. First, remove bedding, food remnants, and loose dirt particles. Then, if necessary, use a slightly damp cloth. Always allow the wood to dry thoroughly before placing it back in the enclosure.
If your pet urinates in or on the house, a suitable urine spray can help to better tackle urine odor and stains. Do not wet the wood unnecessarily, as wood can warp due to moisture. After cleaning, always check that everything is still standing firmly and fits together neatly.
Due to its size and openings, Frida is particularly suitable for small animals. For larger hamsters, gerbils, and other rodents, we recommend a more spacious house or a larger play area that better suits their build.
Composition: wood.
The wood species used are softwoods without resin canals. The wood species do not produce resin and are dried for a long period. The glue used consists of a mixture with cellulose and, according to the product specification, is non-toxic to animals.
Offer Playground Frida only under supervision and check regularly for wear and tear. Watch out for loose parts, gnawing damage, rough edges, and places where your animal might get caught. If the product becomes wet, dirty, unstable, or heavily gnawed to pieces, remove it from the enclosure. Place the playground stably and prevent high drop spots or steps towards the edge of the enclosure.
Yes, Frida is very suitable for dwarf hamsters. The product provides multiple hiding places, passages, and routes and fits nicely into a hamsterscape.
Yes, for mice, Frida is a great playground with multiple houses, levels, and routes. However, always ensure there are plenty of extra hiding places for groups.
No, Frida is not ideal for Syrian hamsters. The smallest top house and some openings are too small for comfortable passage.
We do not recommend Frida as a first choice for gerbils. Some lower parts may seem usable, but the top house and the openings are not ideal. Additionally, gerbils can extensively damage wood.
Yes, that is possible provided the playground is stable. Check daily to ensure your animal is not digging underneath it, which could cause the product to sink or tilt.
Yes, that looks very nice in a natural interior. Lay the moss neatly and check that it stays dry and clean.
The bottom houses have an open bottom. This is handy when you place the house on bedding and your pet can create a nice surface for itself.
Clean the wood as dry as possible. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth or a suitable urine spray for urine stains and allow the product to dry completely before reinstalling it.

Heel mooi Maar zelf in elkaar zetten
Erg leuk.
