The Trixie Hamster House Ida is a playful wooden house for mice and dwarf hamsters. This house is more than just a hiding place: it combines a house, platform, ladder, and small swing in one compact design. As a result, Ida fits beautifully into a natural interior or hamsterscape where your pet can hide, climb, explore, and sit quietly.
The little house stands on a platform and is accessible via a small staircase. A small swing hangs beneath the platform, giving the whole thing an extra playful look. The house itself can be removed from the platform. This allows you to use Ida in multiple ways: as a complete playhouse, as a standalone sleeping house, or as a separate platform in the decor.
✔ Great for hamsterscaping: the wooden design pairs nicely with bedding, moss, cork, tunnels, and natural materials.
✔ Removable house: you can use the house and platform together or place them separately in the layout.
✔ With steps and platform: provides small animals with an extra route and a sheltered lookout spot.
✔ Small swing under the platform: a playful detail that gives the little house extra character.
✔ Resin-free natural wood: made from dried softwood species without resin canals.
Small rodents like to use their enclosure in layers and pathways. They want not only a place to sleep, but also shelter, steps, and little corners to explore. Ida caters well to this, as the little house stands on a platform and is accessible via a small staircase.
For mice, the little house is fun because it features a difference in height, a platform, and a hiding place. For dwarf hamsters, Ida is particularly interesting as a hamsterscaping house in a spacious enclosure, where the product can form a natural route and an extra hiding place.
The detachable house makes Ida extra practical. You can clean the house, move it, or use it separately when you want to change the layout. The platform can then be used separately as a small raised base or a decorative element in the scape.
Yes, Ida is very suitable for hamsterscaping for dwarf hamsters. Hamsterscaping is all about a setup that looks natural and makes sense for the animal. Hiding, creating routes, climbing, sniffing, and being able to make their own choices are important components of this.
Because Ida stands on legs, a sheltered spot is also created underneath the little house. Small animals can walk underneath it or duck down for a moment. This provides extra structure in the enclosure and makes the house more interesting than a standalone standard house.
A piece of dried moss on the roof or platform provides a beautiful natural finish. This fits well with hamsterscaping , natural decor , cork, bedding, and sand zones.
For mice, Ida can be a nice extra house, platform, and route spot. Mice enjoy living together and often use multiple hiding places in the enclosure. Nevertheless, it remains important to always provide group animals with at least one spacious shared hiding place that all animals can fit in at the same time.
Ida can be nicely used alongside it as an extra play and hiding place. For a small group of mice, the little house can sometimes also be used as a communal resting place, depending on the size of the animals and the group composition.
Yes, that is possible. Make sure to place Ida stably and check regularly to ensure your animal isn't digging unsafely underneath it. Because the house stands on legs, space can form under the platform where animals like to walk through or take shelter. That is nice, but the product must remain stable.
With a deep layer of bedding, we advise placing the house properly and checking daily to ensure it does not tilt. If animals dig under the house, the platform or house may sink. Therefore, preferably place the product on a stable surface or press it firmly into the bedding.
The little house can be removed from the platform. This makes Ida handy when you want to adjust the interior. You can use the complete product as a playhouse, but you can also place the house separately as a sleeping area and use the platform separately as a raised platform or landscaping element.
Always check that both parts are stable after moving. Do not use the platform as a high climbing spot if an awkward fall height is created. Small animals like to use height, but in an enclosure, this must always remain low and safe.
The flat roof offers extra possibilities in the scape. For example, you can place a small amount of moss on it, offer a snack, or use the roof as part of a pathway. The platform surrounding the house can also help give the layout more depth and variety.
Do not place heavy or unstable items on the roof. Keep usage small and appropriate to the size of the playhouse so that everything remains stable.
It is best to clean wood as dry as possible. First, remove bedding, food remnants, and loose dirt particles. Then, you can wipe the house with a slightly damp cloth if necessary. Always let the wood dry completely before putting it back.
If your pet urinates in or on the house, a suitable urine spray can help to better tackle urine odor and stains. Do not wet the wood unnecessarily, as wood can warp due to moisture. Always check that all parts are still sturdy after cleaning.
Due to the small openings, Ida is particularly suitable for small animals. For larger hamsters and other rodents, we recommend a more spacious house with larger passages.
Composition: wood.
The wood species used are softwoods without resin canals. The wood species do not produce resin and are dried for a long period. The glue used consists of a mixture with cellulose and, according to the product specification, is non-toxic to animals.

Offer Hamster House Ida only under supervision and check regularly for wear and tear. Watch out for loose parts, gnawing damage, rough edges, and places where your animal might get caught. If the house becomes wet, dirty, unstable, or heavily gnawed to pieces, remove it from the enclosure. Always place Ida stably and prevent the house from sinking due to burrows under or around the product.
Yes, Ida is suitable for dwarf hamsters. The house is small in size, has a platform, steps, and a swing, and fits nicely into a hamsterscape.
Yes, Ida is very suitable for mice. The platform, small ladder, and extra hiding places, in particular, make the house interesting for mice.
No, Ida is too small for Syrian hamsters. The openings and the house are not spacious enough for comfortable passage.
We do not recommend Ida as the first choice for gerbils. The house is small, and gerbils can extensively damage wooden products.
Yes, the house can be removed from the platform. This allows you to use the house separately and place the platform separately in the layout.
No, Ida does not have an open bottom. The house stands on a platform with legs, creating a sheltered space underneath.
Yes, that looks very nice in a natural interior. Use dry moss and check regularly to make sure it stays clean.
Clean the little house as dry as possible. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth or a suitable urine spray for urine stains, and let the wood dry completely before putting it back.
Yes, that is possible provided the playhouse is standing stably. Check daily to ensure that no digging is taking place under or around the playhouse, as this could cause the product to subside.

Erg slecht. Kapot in huis
Dat mijn hamster
Mijn Chinese hamster past er goed in en staat erg stevig.
Geweldige aanwinst voor het hok. Staat heel stevig en geeft voldoende ruimte.
Leuk huisje voor een dwerghamster. Mooie opvulling in haar terrarium.
