The Trixie Willow Corner Wall is a natural corner divider made of willow wood that allows you to neatly delineate bedding, hay, or a furnished corner. Handy for small rodents where you want to raise a digging zone, but also practical for larger animals when you want to create a spacious hay corner or a clear feeding area.
DRD chooses this type of natural setup because it not only looks beautiful but, more importantly, helps to divide the enclosure more intelligently. With a corner wall, you can create a distinct zone: a deep digging corner, a hay corner, a quiet hiding edge, or a natural transition between different types of bedding. This makes the enclosure clearer for you and more interesting for your animal.
Important to know: this corner wall is intended to be partially embedded in the bedding. Insert the bottom part slightly into the bedding and gently press the material against it so that the wall remains more stable. The wall is therefore not a freestanding fence that stands independently on a smooth surface.
✔ Made of natural willow wood
✔ Helps keep bedding neatly in place
✔ Useful for creating a deeper digging angle
✔ Practical for a spacious hay corner
✔ Great for Hamsterscaping, Gerbilscaping and Ratscaping
✔ Available in two sizes for different animals and applications
In many enclosures, bedding shifts on its own. Hamsters and gerbils dig, guinea pigs and rabbits walk through their hay corner, and rats can move material while furnishing and playing. A corner wall helps to make zones clearer. For example, you can fill one corner deeper with bedding, while the rest of the enclosure remains uncluttered.
For small rodents, this is particularly useful for scaping. In Hamsterscaping and Gerbilscaping , you often work with differences in height, digging zones, sandy areas, humus corners, or natural materials. The corner wall helps to separate these areas more calmly and neatly.
For larger animals, the corner wall is actually practical for defining a hay corner. Hay stays together better, and you create a clear eating area for your animal. Even then, the wall must be set partially into bedding, hay, or another soft underlayer. Placing it loosely on a bare, smooth surface, the wall will not stand firmly on its own.
The Corner Wall Willow is available in two sizes. When choosing, consider not only the animal species, but especially the function: do you want to create a small landscaping corner, raise a digging zone, or delineate a more spacious hay corner?
The green 'suitable for' logos on the product images help you with your initial choice. View them as a practical guideline, but always also consider the size of your enclosure, the desired layer of bedding, and how your animal will use the product.
For Hamsterscaping and Gerbilscaping, you can use the corner wall to keep part of the bedding higher. This allows you to create a deep digging corner, for example, without having to fill the entire floor to the same height. This helps to add structure and gives you more freedom when decorating.
Always place the corner wall slightly into the ground cover. Gently press the ground cover against the bottom and sides to ensure the wall remains stable. Combine it with suitable ground cover, cork, tunnels, moss, sand, or humus to create a natural transition. Make sure that heavy components stand stably and cannot tip over or sink.
For guinea pigs and rabbits, the corner wall is particularly useful for creating a distinct hay corner. Hay stays together better, and your animal gets a designated place to eat. You can combine the corner wall with, for example, a shallow tray, a pee mat, a toilet area, or a large pile of hay.
Use the wall here as a boundary, not as a fence. Guinea pigs and rabbits can step or jump over it. Its primary function is to present hay more neatly, make zones recognizable, and keep the enclosure organized. For larger animals, also place the wall partially in bedding or against a filled hay corner, as it will not stand firmly on its own.
The corner wall is made of willow wood. Willow fits beautifully into a natural interior and complements enclosures with bedding, hay, cork, wood, and other natural materials.
Composition: willow wood
You use the corner wall to delineate ground cover, hay, or a natural landscaping zone. This allows you to make a digging corner, hay corner, sand corner, or landscaping area, for example, more organized.
No, the corner wall is not intended as a freestanding fence. Insert the bottom part slightly into the bedding and gently press the bedding or hay against it. This way, the wall will stand much more stably.
For dwarf hamsters, the 20 cm variant is usually the most logical choice. For Syrian hamsters or larger terrariums, the 30 cm variant might be more aesthetically pleasing, especially if you want to fence off a more spacious digging zone.
Yes, the corner wall is suitable for gerbils and very handy for gerbilscaping. Because gerbils actively dig, it is important to place the wall slightly into the bedding and to regularly check if the zone is still stable.
Yes, the 30 cm variant in particular is useful for making a hay corner more clearly defined. The wall holds the hay together better, but it is not a true enclosure. Therefore, place it in bedding or against the hay corner and view it as a neat, natural boundary.
Willow wood is a natural material and gnawing can occur. However, check regularly to ensure the product remains intact and replace it if it becomes too damaged or unstable.
