Product description

Beaphar Care+ Rabbit all-in-one rabbit food

Beaphar Care+ Rabbit is a complete all-in-one pellet food for adult rabbits. The food consists of extruded rabbit pellets with a firm texture and 25% crude fiber. Every pellet has the same composition, preventing your rabbit from eating selectively as with a mixed diet.

At DRD, when it comes to rabbit food, we focus primarily on fiber, eating behavior, hay intake, and practical feed reliability. Beaphar Care+ Rabbit is a great choice if you are looking for a straightforward, easy-to-dose pellet food to accompany unlimited hay, suitable fresh vegetables, and clean drinking water. The firm pellet structure encourages thorough chewing, and the all-in-one composition helps limit leftovers and selective eating.

Why choose Beaphar Care+ Rabbit?

Many rabbits have clear preferences. With a mixed diet, they can pick out exactly the parts they like best, while other pieces are left behind. With an all-in-one pellet, your rabbit receives the same composition with every bite. This provides more peace of mind during feeding and makes it easier to see if your rabbit is eating properly.

The 25% crude fiber fits well with a fiber-rich daily diet. Rabbits need a lot of fiber and must be able to chew all day long. Hay remains the basis for this, but a good pellet food helps to supplement the daily nutrients in a clear and organized way.

Beaphar Care+ Rabbit also contains FOS and MOS, omega 3 and omega 6, yucca schidigera, spirulina, green tea extract, and various herbal components. Together, they form a complete pellet food that is easy to weigh and incorporates well into the daily feeding structure.

For which animals is this food suitable?

  • Rabbit: suitable as a complete pellet food for adult rabbits. Use the pellets as a weighed daily portion alongside unlimited hay, suitable fresh vegetables, and clean drinking water.

This food is specially formulated for rabbits. For guinea pigs, chinchillas, and degus, it is preferable to choose food specifically formulated for those species, because their nutritional needs are different.

Feeding & use

Feed Beaphar Care+ Rabbit as a complete pellet food alongside unlimited hay. Hay always remains the most important part of the rabbit's diet. Give the pellets as a weighed daily portion, preferably divided over two meals per day.

  • Provide unlimited hay daily.
  • Give suitable fresh vegetables daily.
  • Guideline: 20 grams of pellets per kg of body weight per day.
  • Preferably divide the pellet portion over two feeding times.
  • Adjust the amount based on weight, condition, age, activity, and hay intake.
  • Always introduce feed changes gradually by temporarily mixing old and new feed.
  • Check appetite, droppings, body condition, and leftovers in the bowl regularly.
  • Store the food in a dry, cool, and tightly sealed place.

The best routine is simple: unlimited hay as a base, suitable vegetables daily, a measured portion of pellets, and a clean watering time. This keeps the menu clear and allows you to quickly see if your rabbit is eating well.

Daily portion guideline

The recommended amount is approximately 20 grams per kg of body weight per day. Use the table below as a practical starting point and then closely monitor condition, activity, hay intake, and droppings.

Rabbit weight Daily portion guideline per rabbit Good to know
1.5 kg approx. 30 grams per day Practical guideline for a small rabbit or dwarf rabbit.
2.5 kg approx. 50 grams per day Adjust based on condition, activity, and hay intake.
4 kg approx. 80 grams per day For larger rabbits, regular weighing is especially helpful.

This table is a practical translation of the guideline by body weight. A rabbit that eats plenty of hay, maintains a healthy weight, and has normal droppings is usually comfortable in its routine. Do you notice that pellets are consistently left uneaten or that your rabbit's weight is changing? Then you can calmly adjust the portion.

How long does this bag last?

Rabbits are social animals and should be kept with other rabbits. Therefore, we calculate below based on 2 rabbits. Because rabbits can vary significantly in weight, always add the daily portions for both animals together.

Situation Daily portion for 2 rabbits together About 1.5 kg goes with it About 5 kg fits
2 small rabbits approx. 60 g per day combined approx. 25 days approx. 83 days
2 medium-sized rabbits approx. 100 g per day combined approx. 15 days approx. 50 days
2 large rabbits approx. 160 g per day combined approx. 9 days approx. 31 days

Calculation aid: volume in grams ÷ total daily portion for 2 rabbits = number of days. If your rabbits differ significantly in weight, use a guideline for each animal and add the daily portions together.

Compound

Lupine skin, pea hulls, maize, wheat flour, soybean meal, wheat starch, carob, dried carrots, calcium carbonate, linseed flakes, yeast, sodium chloride, magnesium oxide, Melissa officinalis, Yucca schidigera 0.1%, manno-oligosaccharide (MOS) 0.1%, Rosemary officinalis, linden blossom, hop blossom, dried algae spirulina 0.01%, fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) 0.01%.

This composition is designed as a complete all-in-one pellet food for adult rabbits. The plant-based fiber sources, such as lupine husks and pea hulls, are suitable for a fiber-rich rabbit diet. Carrot and carob contribute to taste acceptance, while yeast, FOS, and MOS support the intestinal flora. Yucca schidigera is often used for its role in controlling fecal odor. Together with herbal components, minerals, linseed flakes, and spirulina, this makes Beaphar Care+ Rabbit a complete, easily dosable basic food alongside unlimited hay and daily fresh food.

Analysis

Crude protein 12%, crude fat 1.7%, crude fiber 25%, crude ash 3.5%, calcium 0.5%, phosphorus 0.29%, sodium 0.19%, omega 3 0.03%, omega 6 0.36%. Energy value: 2,300 kcal/kg.

This analysis is consistent with a high-fiber all-in-one rabbit food. The 25% crude fiber aligns well with the role of pellets as a supplement to unlimited hay. The fat content of 1.7% has been kept moderate, and the presence of omega-3 and omega-6 further complements the daily composition. Hay remains the primary source of fiber; the pellets additionally provide a complete and easily portionable daily portion.

Additives per kg

Vitamin A 13,200 IU, vitamin B1 20 mg, vitamin B2 26 mg, vitamin B6 23 mg, folic acid 3.5 mg, vitamin B12 77 μg, vitamin C 17 mg, vitamin D3 1,440 IU, vitamin E 80 IU, biotin 660 μg, vitamin K3 0.96 mg, choline chloride 1,800 mg, calcium D-pantothenate 55 mg, niacinamide 130 mg, copper 12 mg, iodine 1.64 mg, manganese 30 mg, zinc 60 mg, selenium 0.0603 mg, DL-methionine 500 mg, thyme aroma 120 mg, green tea extract decaffeinated 300 mg, echinacea tincture 250 mg, potassium sorbate 1000 mg.

Switching to Beaphar Care+ Rabbit

Switch gradually when changing food. Mix the new food with the old food for the first few days and gradually increase the proportion of Beaphar Care+ Rabbit. This allows your rabbit to get used to the smell, taste, and pellet texture.

  • Day 1–2: mix a small amount of new food with the old food.
  • Days 3–5: feed approximately half old, half new.
  • Days 6–7: mainly new food with a small amount of old food remaining.
  • Then switch completely when your rabbit continues to eat well and has normal droppings.

During the transition, pay close attention to appetite, hay intake, and droppings. If you notice clear changes, build up more slowly or seek advice from a rabbit-savvy veterinarian.

Good to know

Beaphar Care+ Rabbit is a complete pellet food, but that does not mean that pellets constitute the entire menu. For rabbits, unlimited hay remains the basis. In addition, a balanced portion of pellets, suitable daily vegetables, and fresh drinking water are part of a complete daily diet.

Store the food in a cool, dry, and tightly sealed place. Check the smell, texture, and freshness of the pellets, especially if a larger package has been open for a while. This ensures the food remains appealing and pleasant to feed.
