Product description

Beech Stick Mix with Herbs, Flowers & Vegetables 6 pieces

The Beech Stick Mix is a natural stick mix for rodents and rabbits, with an attractive topping of herbs, flowers, and vegetables. Your animal can sniff the sticks, discover the topping, nibble off pieces, and then continue playing with the wooden stick. As a result, this is not just a snack, but a small foraging and nibbling moment in the enclosure.

This stick mix is especially great for owners looking for something that does more than just “feel good”. The combination of wood, fragrant herbs, flowers, and vegetables makes the sticks interesting to explore. At DRD, when it comes to chewing material, we focus primarily on what your animal can do with it: hold, sniff, pick, manipulate, nibble, and be occupied at their own pace.

The package contains approximately 6 sticks, each about 18 cm long and 1 cm in diameter. This size allows you to easily place the sticks loosely in the enclosure, stick them in the hay corner, or distribute them over a sniffing area. This way, you instantly turn a single stick into a small activity.

Why choose this Stick Mix?

A single snack is often gone quickly. This stick mix gives your pet more to do. First, there is the topping to sniff and explore, then the wooden stick remains to investigate further, move around, or nibble on.

For animals that enjoy working with natural materials, that is precisely the added value. Some animals immediately grab a stick and get to work with it. Other animals drag the stick along, keep it in a favorite corner, or return to it later. That, too, is part of natural use.

You can easily use the sticks as daily enrichment. Place a stick with the hay, tuck it between natural materials, or partially hide it in a sniffing area. This way, your animal has to search, and snack time immediately becomes a quiet activity.

For which animals is the Beech Stick Mix suitable?

The Beech Stick Mix is suitable as a natural gnawing and foraging variety for rodents and rabbits. Adjust usage to the animal species, the size of your animal, and how actively your animal engages with the gnawing material.

  • Mouse: suitable as a natural sniffing and gnawing stimulus. Mice can investigate the stick, climb on it, and nibble on it.
  • Dwarf hamster: suitable as a fragrant gnawing and foraging stimulus in a natural setting.
  • Hamster: suitable as a snack and gnawing moment in the enclosure, for example next to a hiding place or sniffing corner.
  • Gerbil: very fun as destruction and gnawing material. Gerbils can actively work the stick.
  • Dwarf gratin: suitable as a gnawing and foraging stimulus, tailored to the actual size of your animal.
  • Rat: suitable as a sturdy stick to hold, examine, and gnaw on.
  • Guinea pig: suitable as a natural herbal and gnawing variation alongside hay, guinea pig food, and fresh vegetables.
  • Rabbit: suitable as natural enrichment for nibbling, exploring, and moving around the enclosure.
  • Chinchilla: suitable as a small, conscious variation on herbs and gnawing alongside hay, herbs, leaves, and branches.
  • Degu: suitable as a gnawing and foraging variation alongside hay, herbs, leaves, and appropriate basic food.

Use & offer

Place one stick loose in the enclosure, near the hay corner, or in a sniffing area. Your animal can decide for itself whether to discover the topping first, move the stick, or nibble on the wood immediately.

Do you want to make foraging an extra fun moment? Then don't place the stick in the food bowl as standard, but in a spot where your animal has to find it. For example, among hay, next to a tunnel, near a platform, or in a natural setup.

For small animals, you can offer a single stick as a larger sniffing and gnawing object. For larger animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, you can use the stick as a distinct gnawing and snacking stimulus in the hay corner or foraging area.

Usage & consumption

The Beech Stick Mix contains approximately 6 sticks. How long they last depends on how many sticks you offer at a time, how many animals you have, and how actively your animal engages with them.

Usage To offer Use per package
Quiet use 1 stick at a time about 6 moments
Two animals 2 sticks at the same time about 3 moments
Group of active rodents multiple sticks at the same time depending on group size and gnawing behavior

Use the sticks as a natural supplement alongside hay, appropriate basic food, and other enrichment in the enclosure.

Compound

Birch wood, echinacea, carrot, calendula, parsnip, parsley, hibiscus.

Dimensions & capacity

Contents: approx. 6 sticks. Size: approx. 18 × ⌀ 1 cm.

What does this compound mean?

The base consists of wood with a topping of herbs, flowers, and vegetables. Echinacea, carrot, calendula, parsnip, parsley, and hibiscus combine to provide scent, color, and variety. As a result, the stick becomes not only a piece of gnawing material but also a small foraging moment where your animal can sniff, choose, and get to work on its own.

The sturdy stick shape makes this item practical to use. You can offer the sticks individually, place them by the hay corner, put them in a sniffing area, or use them as a small activity in a naturally designed enclosure.

Hamster vind het leuk en lekker om er een keer op te knagen. Goed voor de tandjes maar wel een beetje lang dus kan er alleen 1 in de kooi doen. Dwerghamster heeft er al veel af gegeten.
