Mealworms are a popular animal-protein snack for small rodents that can benefit from animal proteins or insects alongside plant-based food. This includes mice, dwarf hamsters, Syrian Hamsters (Golden Hamsters), gerbils and rats. For these animals, a small insect snack can be a nice way to offer extra variety next to the daily staple food.
These dried mealworms are also suitable for wild birds. You can offer them on a bird feeding table, in a small dish or at a sheltered feeding spot. Because the mealworms are dried, they are easy to dose and store neatly.
What makes these mealworms practical is that you do not need live food. You can give exactly a small amount per snack or feeding moment. The stand-up pouch is resealable, so you can store the mealworms dry and neatly.
Give Vitakraft VitaGarden Mealworms as a complementary snack alongside the daily staple food. A few mealworms per snack moment is enough for most small rodents. Because mealworms are protein- and fat-rich snacks, small portions are the best choice.
For wild birds, you can offer the mealworms at a sheltered feeding spot. Preferably use a clean dish, feeding table or suitable bird feeder and remove leftovers when they become wet or dirty.
You can offer the mealworms in different ways:
Always provide fresh drinking water for rodents. Store the mealworms cool, dry and well sealed. When feeding in the enclosure or at an outdoor feeding spot, check that any leftovers stay dry and clean.
Composition: dried mealworms.
Analysis: protein 52%, fat content 26.8%, crude fibre 4.8%, moisture 5%.
The composition is simple and clear: dried mealworms as an animal protein source. Due to the high protein and fat content, this snack is best used consciously and in small amounts. This makes the product suitable as extra variety, a reward or a foraging moment for small omnivorous rodents, and as complementary feed for wild birds.
No, mealworms are used as a complementary snack or complementary feed alongside the daily staple food. They are concentrated and nutritious, so small portions are the most suitable choice.
Hide a few mealworms between the bedding, in a snack board or in a foraging toy. Their smell and texture make them interesting to search for.
Yes, these dried mealworms are also suitable for wild birds. Offer them at a clean, sheltered feeding spot and remove leftovers when they are wet or dirty.
Yes, dwarf hamsters can have mealworms as a small complementary animal-protein snack. Give small portions and match them to the rest of the diet.
For guinea pigs and rabbits, it is better to choose plant-based snacks such as herbs, leaves, flowers or dried vegetables. Mealworms mainly suit small omnivorous rodents and wild birds.

De vogels zijn er gek op.
Prima, goed knapperig
5 sterren :).
