Which Ground Cover is Perfect for Winter?

In the wild, hamsters dig tunnels and build warm castles. At home we can help them with a comfortable bedding, such as soft cotton . Here in our category we have selected special bottom material that is not only comfortable, but also retains heat.

Which nesting material gives the Hamsters the most warmth during the winter?

In the wild, all dwarf hamsters and hamsters make a warm nest in which they sleep. They also do this at our home, but when temperatures drop (also at our home) a nice warm nest is very nice for the animals. We have selected special nesting material in this category that is wonderfully warm in winter and that the animals will visibly enjoy. Warm materials are made of kapok, cotton and soft paper fibers.

Which herbs support Hamsters in winter?

Herbs are also very suitable as extra support during the winter. Each herb can help in its own way. In any case, we have made a selection of the most popular herbs that are also liked by animals.

Do Hamsters Need Extra Vitamins?

Actually, hamsters do not need extra vitamins in winter. For example, we only recommend this for animals that are sick, weak, pregnant or lactating. This group can always use a little extra support. In addition, some dwarf hamster species such as the Russian Dwarf Hamster can produce a winter coat. This process costs the animals extra energy.

Can Hamsters Hibernate?

How to Use a Heat Pod or Cushion for Hamsters?

A heat pod is actually made for larger rodents and rabbits, but it can also be used for hamsters. We actually only recommend this Pod for animals that are sick, weak or recovering from surgery. In all these cases, the body has insufficient energy to maintain itself at the right temperature, making an additional heat source necessary.
