A hammock is a smart addition if you want to create more resting areas and height without cluttering the floor. Many chinchillas use a hammock as a permanent "chill spot": a place to rest after running, or simply relax in a quiet moment. Moreover, a hammock helps to divide the cage into layers, which often creates a sense of calm and order in the layout.
Which type of chinchilla hammock is right for you?
Looking for something soft and cozy ? Then plush and fabric hammocks are popular. Want more structure in your cage and a clear path? Then a suspension bridge (or a grass hammock) is a great choice.
