Cooling in hot weather
Chinchillas thrive in a cool, stable environment. During warmer periods, it's wise to provide an extra cool spot, such as an aluminum cooling pad . Place the pad in a quiet spot in the cage where your chinchilla can easily lie down. Tip: Keep the area around the cooling pad dry and clean to ensure it remains comfortable to use.
Hygiene & cleaning
A fresh cage starts with a routine: a daily check-up and periodic, more thorough cleaning. With a good cage cleaner and targeted odor/urine products, you can target "spots" without having to replace everything immediately.
