Use the platform as an extra level or create a cozy corner for your rodent(s). The platform is a fun challenge in the enclosure that your rodents will really appreciate. Place a food bowl on the platform and a ladder against it so your rodent has to climb to reach its food, or use the platform as a step to a higher level.

The platform is available in two different sizes: 30 and 45 cm, so there's always a size suitable for your rodent or rabbit. Rabbits, for example, love to sit on a platform and look out over their domes, though they can sometimes even argue a bit about who gets to sit on it.

For the guinea pig, the platforms will primarily serve as a hiding place where they can sit. This gives them a sense of security.

For small rodents like mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, and gerbils, a platform provides a stable place in the enclosure. The substrate is diggable and mobile, and a platform provides a stable spot for things like a running wheel or a water bowl.

The wooden products are made of bark wood, a material with a natural and rustic character. While not common, the bark may peel in some areas. This is a characteristic of the material that emphasizes the authenticity and unique appearance of each product. Peeling of the bark occurs only occasionally and does not affect the strength or functionality of the product, but it does contribute to its natural charm.

Should I worry about resin?

No, that's not necessary. This barkwood contains fewer resin channels and undergoes a careful drying process to ensure it's completely free of resin and other saps naturally found in wood. During this process, the wood is exposed to controlled conditions of heat and airflow, which gradually removes any remaining moisture.

In addition, the wood complies with European guidelines and is monitored by the German animal protection organization to ensure that it meets the highest safety and quality standards.

The Animal Welfare Quality Mark

The Tierschutz-Kennzeichen (Animal Welfare Seal) is the only official seal of approval for products that comply with Austrian Animal Welfare Act. It is awarded by the Fachstelle für tiergerechte Tierhaltung und Tierschutz (FTT), an independent body established by the legislature, and guarantees compliance with animal welfare regulations.

To be certified, products must meet the requirements of the Austrian Animal Welfare Act, including its associated regulations. The assessment is based on legal requirements, current scientific findings and practical experience, comparisons with similar products, and product inspection and testing.

Each product assessed and positively evaluated by the Fachstelle receives a unique test number along with the Animal Protection Label, making it clearly identifiable. The test number consists of the year, a number for the animal category, and a serial number.
