The Trixie Square Wooden Hay Rack 15 cm is a compact basic wooden hay rack for offering hay, grass, and herbs. The square design allows animals to access the hay from multiple sides, while the small bar spacing of approximately 1 cm helps to keep the hay neatly together.
This hay rack is particularly suitable for guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus. Hay plays an important role in the daily routine of these animals. With a clear hay rack, the hay stays in one place better and is less likely to become soiled by bedding, urine, or droppings.
✔ Basic hay rack: suitable as a permanent spot for daily hay.
✔ Compact size: handy for smaller enclosures or as an extra hay hook.
✔ Small bar spacing: the hay stays in the rack better and can be pulled out easily.
✔ Wooden look: fits beautifully in a natural interior.
✔ Can be filled with hay and herbs: ideal for making the hay spot more attractive.
A hay rack helps to offer hay in an organized and cleaner manner. This is especially important for guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, as hay has a fixed place in their daily diet and activities. When hay lies loose on the floor, it is trampled or soiled more quickly.
With this square wooden hay rack, you create a permanent hay spot in the enclosure. Your animal can pull the hay from between the bars, making eating slightly more active than when the hay is only offered loose. This suits animals well that like to sniff, pick at, and tug at their food.
The hay rack is compact, making it also convenient as a second hay point. With multiple animals, it can be pleasant to offer hay in different places so that each animal can eat peacefully without one spot becoming too crowded.
This Trixie Square Wooden Hay Rack is a basic hay rack. This means you can use it as a permanent place for daily hay. Due to its compact size, it is particularly suitable for smaller groups, smaller enclosures, or as an extra hay point alongside a larger hay supply.
For animals that eat a lot of hay, such as guinea pigs and rabbits, it is important that sufficient hay always remains available. Therefore, check daily whether the hay rack is still well filled and refill it in time.
You can fill the hay rack with regular hay, herbal hay, or a combination of hay and dried herbs. This makes the hay area more attractive and gives your animal more scent, texture, and flavor to choose from.
For guinea pigs, hay is an important part of the day. A fixed hay rack helps to clearly mark the hay spot and keep the hay cleaner. Place the rack in a location where your guinea pigs can easily reach it and where no animal blocks the passage.
With two or more guinea pigs, it is wise to create multiple hay stations. This can be done with a combination of this wooden hay rack, a larger hay rack, or a separate hay station. This way, guinea pigs can eat at the same time without pushing each other away.
For rabbits, this hay rack can work well as a compact basic rack or as an extra rack alongside a larger hay supply. Large rabbits often eat a lot of hay, making a larger or second rack more practical.
Place the hay rack stably and ensure that your rabbit can easily reach it without knocking it over. Check daily that there is enough hay, especially when your rabbit eats a lot from the rack.
Chinchillas and degus enjoy eating hay and herbs. This compact wooden hay rack can help present the hay neatly while simultaneously providing some extra eating activity. Due to the small spacing of the bars, the animals have to gently pull the hay out from between them.
Check degus extra carefully for gnawing damage, as they are strong gnawers. If the hay rack becomes damaged, unstable, or develops sharp edges, remove it from the enclosure.
The bar spacing of approximately 1 cm is relatively small. This helps to keep hay better in the rack. Your animal can reach the hay with its snout and pulls it out step by step.
Therefore, do not fill the hay rack too tightly. When hay is too firmly packed between the bars, it can become more difficult to pull out. A loose, airy filling usually works best.
Remove old or soiled hay daily. Clean the hay rack as dry as possible with a small brush or cloth. Preferably do not use large amounts of water, as wood can absorb moisture and warp.
If the hay rack has become wet from urine or water, remove it from the enclosure and let it dry completely. Then check if the wood is still sturdy and if no rough or sharp spots have formed.
Composition: wood.
Wood is a natural material. Regularly check the hay rack for wear, gnawing damage, loose parts, and rough edges. Do not use the hay rack if it has become damaged, unstable, or sharp.
Always offer the Trixie Square Wooden Hay Rack under supervision and check regularly for wear. Look for gnawing damage, loose parts, rough edges, and stability. Additionally, ensure that the hay always remains clean and easily accessible. For guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, hay is an important part of the daily routine, so refill the rack on time and, if there are multiple animals, use extra hay spaces if necessary.

Makkelijk in gebruik.
Enorm klein. Niet geschikt als hooiruif
Leuk ruifje
