Cork tunnels natural and unique. Each cork tunnel has its own shape and that makes them so beautiful to use for hamster scapes, for example. The cork tunnel encourages natural behavior in small rodents because it has a tunnel shape. Small rodents such as mice and dwarf hamsters also live in tunnels and burrows in the wild, so they feel completely at home around a cork tunnel!
✔ Made from 100% natural, untreated cork bark
✔ High quality cork (made from a piece of cork bark from the cork oak)
✔ Stimulates natural behaviour
✔ Ideal for Hamsterscaping & Gerbilscaping !
Cork tunnels not only offer a hiding place, but also give the animals the opportunity to climb a bit. For mice, a cork tunnel is absolutely no challenge, because mice are great climbers, but for dwarf hamsters it's a different story. Dwarf hamsters are bad climbers by nature, but they'll be proud of themselves if they brave a cork tunnel!
Use multiple tunnels to create dreamy landscapes for the animals to climb, hide and play in.
Thanks to the irregular shapes of the cork tunnel, the nails are indeed carefully cared for as the animals clamber over it. However, the cork tunnel has no abrasive properties, it is more like a small pedicure.
We believe that the cork tunnel can also be used as a form of challenge for the animals. Thanks to the capricious shape of the bark, at least mice can get a good grip on it. For example, place the tunnel for mice at a slight angle to a higher floor or use the tunnel as a form of bridge from one part to the other. However, do not do this with dwarf hamsters, as dwarf hamsters cannot climb well and cannot see depth. For dwarf hamsters, for example, the tunnel can be buried in the ground cover, so that the animals have a tunnel.
Yes! We have found that the cork tunnel can be used as a snack hiding place. Simply place something tasty between the jagged cracks of the bark and let the animals search for it and then try to get to it. What a great activity! Just like in the wild!
The inner diameter of these cork tunnels is between 6 and 10 cm, for mice and dwarf hamsters that should be enough, but for the more robust Syrian Hamsters it can be tight.
The bark is not factory made, but comes from the cork tree. The bark is removed from the tree with all its natural elements intact, such as moss, natural fungi, roots, twigs, leaves, etc. You can simply brush off these natural elements from the bark.
