The Trixie Wooden Slatted Ball with Bell 6 cm is a compact wooden toy for animals that enjoy pushing, rolling, exploring, and occasionally nibbling on something. Thanks to the open slatted structure, the ball is lightweight and easy to move around the enclosure or during supervised playtime.
This wooden play ball is suitable for rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, degus, and ferrets. The bell inside the ball is primarily decorative and makes no sound. This makes the ball pleasant for owners who want to offer a playful wooden object but do not want jingling toys in the enclosure.

A wooden play ball is a simple way to add extra variety to the enclosure. Animals can investigate the ball, push it away, tap it, move it, or briefly nibble on it. Curious animals, in particular, often enjoy having something in the enclosure that moves when they touch it.
For guinea pigs and rabbits, the ball can be a small play element to push or investigate. For rats and ferrets, it is primarily an object to play with, move around, or discover during playtime. Chinchillas and degus may find the wooden material interesting to explore and nibble on.
Because the bell makes no sound, the toy remains quiet during use. This is nice when you want to offer a playful object but do not want a loud jingling sound in the enclosure.
You can also offer the ball temporarily and put it back in a different spot later. By rotating toys, it remains more interesting and your animal regularly gets something new to explore.
For very small rodents such as mice, dwarf hamsters, and hamsters, this ball is usually less logical as active toy. They often do more with smaller foraging material, tunnels, hiding places, nesting material, or landscaping material that better suits their size and behavior.
Not every animal plays in the same way. Some animals actively push a ball away, while others mainly examine it briefly and then leave it alone. That is normal. Toys do not always need to be used intensively to still have value; they offer variety and give your animal something extra to look at, smell, or touch.
Do you want to make the toy more interesting? Then try placing it in a different spot, next to a tunnel, near a hiding place, or in the run. This way, the ball becomes part of a small discovery trail.

Wood remains most pleasant when used dry. If the ball gets wet or dirty, let it dry thoroughly and check if the wood is still sturdy and safe. If in doubt, replace the toy.
This wooden slatted ball is suitable for rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, degus, and ferrets. Usage may vary per animal: rolling, pushing, investigating, or nibbling on it.
