Product description

Trixie House Hanna Brown 26 cm – natural wooden house

The Trixie House Hanna Brown 26 cm is a natural wooden house for small rodents who like to sleep, nest, and explore their enclosure in a sheltered spot. Thanks to its rustic appearance, this house fits beautifully into a natural interior, such as a hamsterscaping, gerbilscaping, or mouse enclosure with wood, moss, tunnels, branches, and a deep layer of bedding.

The house has an open bottom . This allows you to place it directly on the bedding, so that your animal can drag nesting material into it itself and the ground naturally becomes part of the sleeping area. The house provides a clear resting place in the enclosure and helps to make the layout more organized and sheltered.

At DRD, when it comes to wooden houses, we focus primarily on size, accessibility, stability, and how the house suits the animal's behavior. This Hanna house is an especially good choice for mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, and gerbils that need a sheltered spot in a natural setting.

Why choose Huis Hanna Bruin?

A good little house provides your pet with a clear resting place. Small rodents like to sleep, hoard, nest, and hide in sheltered spots. Huis Hanna Bruin helps create such a permanent spot in the enclosure. Thanks to the open bottom, the house fits nicely with the bedding, allowing your pet to add nesting material themselves and furnish the sleeping area in a more natural way.

The wooden look makes the house not only practical for your pet, but also beautiful for owners who like to create a natural interior. The house fits well among other natural materials, such as tunnels, branches, cork, moss, and a sturdy layer of bedding. This way, it doesn't just become a standalone house, but a true part of the decor.

For which animals is Trixie House Hanna Brown suitable?

  • Mouse: suitable as a spacious hiding and nesting place. For mice, the house combines well with climbing branches, tunnels, moss, and plenty of shelter around the house.
  • Dwarf hamster: suitable as a natural sleeping house in a hamsterscaping enclosure. Thanks to the open bottom, your dwarf hamster can bring nesting material inside itself.
  • Hamster: suitable for hamsters where the opening and interior space are a good match for body size. For large Syrian hamsters that like to nest with extra space, a larger house may sometimes be more comfortable.
  • Gerbil: suitable as a natural house and wooden furnishings. Gerbils often actively use wooden parts in their enclosure. Therefore, place the house stably and check regularly for wear.

For pygmy rats, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, this little house is too small as a proper hiding or sleeping place. For these animals, it is better to choose a larger house, tunnel, or hiding place that suits their body size and way of moving.

Use in hamsterscaping, gerbilscaping, and natural decor

This little house works best when placed low and stable in the enclosure. Place the house on a firm layer of bedding or on a stable surface so that it cannot tip over or sink. By placing some nesting material nearby, your animal can further furnish the sleeping area itself.

For a natural look, you can combine the house with nesting material , tunnels , cork, branches, and a little dried moss. A small amount of dried moss or a light natural decoration on the roof can help the house blend in beautifully with the decor.

For hamsters, you can look further at hamsterscaping . For gerbils, this house fits well within a natural setup with plenty of digging space, tunnels, and sturdy wooden elements. For this, also check out gerbilscaping .

This is how you place the little house comfortably and stably.

  1. Choose a quiet spot in the enclosure, preferably not in the middle of a busy walking route.
  2. Place the house low and stable on the ground or partially in the bedding.
  3. Check that the small house cannot tip over, slide, or sink.
  4. Place nesting material nearby so that your animal can fill the sleeping area itself.
  5. Combine with tunnels, branches, or a second hiding place for more freedom of choice.

Because small rodents like to choose where they sleep, it is often nice to offer multiple sheltered spots in the enclosure. For this, also check out our categories mouse houses , hamster houses, and gerbil houses .

Material and natural properties

The Trixie House Hanna Brown is made of wood. Wood is a natural material. As a result, each house may differ slightly in shape, color, structure, and appearance. This is precisely what makes the house beautiful for a natural interior.

With natural wood products, it is possible that small pieces of texture or bark-like parts may be slightly loose. This is part of the natural character of the material and normally does not affect the function of the playhouse. However, do check the playhouse regularly, just as you would with all wooden furnishings.

Good to know about wood

The house is made of carefully dried wood and is intended as a natural enclosure for small rodents. As with all wooden houses, it is a good idea to regularly check the house for wear, loose pieces, or sharp edges.

In addition, always provide sufficient suitable gnawing material so that your animal can exhibit natural gnawing behavior in other places as well.

Good to know

  • Use the playhouse under supervision and check regularly for wear and tear.
  • Replace the house if sharp edges, loose parts, or damage occur.
  • Place the house low and stable, especially for hamsters and dwarf hamsters.
  • Prevent the house from sinking when your animal digs under or next to it.
  • Because wood is a natural material, every playhouse may vary slightly in color, shape, and structure.

Fijn huis!
