• Mouse: suitable as a spacious wooden multi-chamber house with multiple routes and chambers. Mice like to use sheltered spaces to rest, hide, and move through the enclosure.
• Dwarf hamster: very suitable for Russian dwarf hamsters, Campbell's dwarf hamsters, Roborovski dwarf hamsters, and Chinese dwarf hamsters. The house offers multiple rooms and fits nicely into a natural dwarf hamster enclosure.
• Hamster: suitable for Syrian hamsters/golden hamsters, provided your hamster fits well through the openings and has sufficient space in the rooms. For larger golden hamsters, it is wise to carefully check how much room your animal has to turn around in the house and bring in nesting material.
• Gerbil: suitable as a sturdy wooden multi-chamber house and furnishing element in a gerbil enclosure. Gerbils dig and gnaw actively, so place the house stably and check the wood regularly.

For degus, Nido can only be used to a very limited extent as a compact hiding or route area if the size demonstrably suits your animals and setup. For daily use, we prefer more spacious and sturdier houses, platforms, and hiding places for degus that better suit their body size and active use.

This house is not suitable as a practical hiding place for pygmy rats, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and chinchillas. The chambers and openings are too small for them. For these animals, you would prefer to choose a larger house, a wider tunnel, or a sturdier platform that better suits their body size and way of moving.

Use in hamsterscaping

In a hamsterscaping enclosure, Nido can serve as a central resting place. Place the house on a stable surface and gradually build up the bedding around the house. Thanks to the open bottom, your hamster can use the substrate and nesting material themselves and furnish the chambers according to their own preference.

Placement in the enclosure

Always place Nido stably and low in the enclosure. A firm placement is especially important when your animal walks on the slate roof. Place the house on a flat surface and gradually build up the bedding around the house.

• Always put the removable roof back neatly after inspection.
• Use the roof as a low route, not as a high climbing structure.

• After furnishing, check that the house cannot tilt or subside.

Cleaning & maintenance

Thanks to the removable roof, you can inspect the chambers more easily. Gently remove soiled nesting material and check the chambers for stash, moisture, or dirt. Clean the wood thoroughly with a dry or slightly damp cloth and allow it to dry completely before replacing the house.

Do not use too much water and do not submerge the house. Wood looks its best when kept dry and tidy. You can wipe the slate roof with a slightly damp cloth and then let it dry thoroughly.
