The Keddoc Animal Home Penthouse is a modular rat cage in anthracite that you can build according to your needs. With this product, you can choose between two variants: the base bottom or the separate top section, which allows you to extend the cage upwards.

This cage stands out because of its high base tray, large doors, narrow bar spacing, castor wheels and the option to expand it later with an additional upper section.

Which variant should you choose?

This main product consists of two separate variants. If you choose the base, you receive the bottom section of the cage. If you want to create extra height, you can also order the separate top section.

Please pay close attention when choosing your variant. The top section is not a complete cage on its own and only fits the matching Keddoc Animal Home Penthouse bottom section.

The Animal Home Penthouse is especially interesting if you are looking for a cage that works practically in everyday use. The large doors make it easier to place platforms, bedding, feeding spots, hammocks and tunnels properly. Cleaning is also more convenient because you do not have to work through a small door.

The high base tray helps keep bedding, nesting material and loose furnishing pieces inside the cage. That is useful for animals that like to dig, run, play and forage. Thanks to the castor wheels, you can also move the cage more easily when cleaning or rearranging the room.

Which animals is the Keddoc Animal Home Penthouse suitable for?

• Dwarf rat: can be an interesting option because of the narrow bar spacing, but always check carefully with young or small dwarf rats whether the bar spacing matches their body size.
• Rat: suitable as a spacious vertical rat cage with options for platforms, hammocks, tunnels and foraging spots.
• Degu: suitable when the cage is actively furnished with sturdy platforms, enough gnawing material, a sand bath and safe routes.

For guinea pigs and rabbits, we prefer an enclosure with plenty of flat floor space. For chinchillas, we prefer to look at an enclosure that specifically suits their size, jumping power and way of moving.

Furnishing & use

Rats enjoy using height, but a tall cage must be furnished thoughtfully. Work with several platforms, hammocks, tunnels and intermediate steps, so there are no large open fall heights. For rats, you can combine the cage beautifully with hammocks, climbing routes, foraging toys and a deep layer of suitable bedding.

For degus, a sturdy layout is important. Think of stable platforms, gnawing material, tunnels, a sand bath and natural enrichment. Regularly check plastic parts, edges and accessories for wear or gnaw marks, especially with animals that like to gnaw actively.
