Aura 120 Plexi Hamster Cage with Transparent Surround
The Aura 120 Plexi is a spacious cage for mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters and dwarf rats. The transparent plexiglass surround above the base provides room for extra bedding and helps keep the material inside the enclosure. It also gives you a view of the lower part of the setup. Two large doors provide access from the front and the top.
With external dimensions of 118 × 64 × 62 cm, the enclosure offers room for various hiding places and other suitable accessories. The cage comes without furnishings or bedding. This allows you to choose houses, tunnels and other items to suit the species and size of your animals.

Plexiglass surround for a deeper bedding layer
The lower section consists of a plastic base with 10 cm high plexiglass panels above it. These panels enclose the area directly above the base. This allows you to add more bedding before the material reaches the open bars. It is useful when creating a digging layer and helps reduce the amount of bedding that ends up outside the cage.
The panels are transparent. This keeps the setup behind the plexiglass surround visible, for example when you place a tunnel or hiding place along the side. The plastic base itself is not transparent.
The stated height of 10 cm applies only to the plexiglass panels, not to the base and panels combined. When adding bedding, allow for the lower edge of the front door and the space needed for houses and other accessories.
A setup that suits the residents
The Aura 120 Plexi is suitable for mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters and dwarf rats. Match the setup to its residents: a house or entrance for a dwarf hamster will need to be a different size from one for a Syrian hamster, for example. Choose the main items first, then check how they fit together inside the enclosure.
The cage comes without fixed furnishings. There are no included platforms, houses or other accessories that determine the layout. You decide where the hiding places, food and water will go. Keep these daily care areas within easy reach of one of the doors.
Setting up for a hamster
For a hamster, combine a deep bedding layer with a dark sleeping place, extra hiding places, a sand bath and a suitable exercise wheel. House a hamster alone. Use tunnels and sheltered routes to connect the different areas of the enclosure.
Provide a bedding depth of at least 15 cm for dwarf hamsters and 25 cm for Syrian hamsters. Greater depth offers more opportunities to dig. Check that this layer works with the doors and your chosen furnishings. Also account for the height of the wheel stand: there must be enough space above the bedding for the wheel to turn freely.

Two doors for daily care
The large front door is useful when you are sitting in front of the enclosure and want to reach the furnishings. The top door provides a second way in from above. This allows you to choose the most convenient opening for each task, such as refilling water or removing a dirty bowl.
Place food and water where you can check them daily. Also check toilet areas and remove wet bedding and food that could spoil. When cleaning a hamster enclosure, leave clean nesting material in place where possible to retain its familiar scent.
Assembly and placement
The cage is supplied flat packed for assembly. Follow the assembly instructions to fit the base, plexiglass panels, profiles and wire panels together. Before furnishing it, check that all parts are secure and the doors close properly. The structure can also be taken apart again.
Choose a sturdy surface that supports the whole cage. As well as the external dimensions, allow room for the doors when open. Place heavy items in a hamster setup directly on the enclosure floor or on a stable platform with legs resting on the floor. Add bedding around them afterwards so they remain stable when the hamster digs.

We are very happy with the cage, but most importantly, our Syrian hamster Ziggy is enjoying his new and spacious home!
Good size cage, package was wrapped up well, unboxing was easy, instructions easy to download. Putting it together was easy enough for one person to do. Until it comes to attaching the cage to base. Bar space is small and suitable for dwarf hamsters. Unfortunately you can't attach platforms to the sides. The doors are sturdy and the locking mechanism has strong enough to prevent the animals from opening it themselves. I will say the paint is chipping away from the area where the bar locks into place. For the base it's 16cm adding the plexi glass it comes to 25cm. My recommendation is to have a deeper base of 30cm, the frames of the base can be plastic but the sides could be plexi glass so we can see them burrow. For the handles they are tricky to clip into place I would actually redesign the handles. Or make them slightly longer.
- Easy to put together
- While the cage is difficult to attach to the base (haven't done it yet) the base has a "guard/upper lip" to keep the cage in place so it doesn't slide everywhere.
- Strong doors prevent animals from opening them
- Cage comes by it self, no wheel, water bottle etc. This is good because it's less waste as the wheel provided could be cheap and you would have to go and get a better wheel. I use the niteangel silent wheel and platform and it fits in the door and the cage. I'm getting the extensions to raise the platform by 15cm and by my measurements the wheel will still fit inside.
- The final part of hooking the handles to the base is difficult to do. I haven't managed it so the cage is just sitting on the base.
- Base is 16cm it should be deeper adding the height of the plexi glass comes to 25cm. Hamsters need at least 20 to 30cm of depth.
- heel ruime kooi
