Product description

Nature Cotton Soft Nesting Material 3 Liters for small rodents

Nature Cotton Soft Nesting Material is a soft and airy nesting material for small rodents that like to build a warm, sheltered nest. The cotton fluff feels pleasantly soft and is easy for your animal to move around, allowing mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, and gerbils to create a cozy sleeping nest themselves.

Small natural parts of the cotton plant may still be visible in the material. This gives the nesting material a beautiful, natural look and extra structure. Always use this cotton in small, loose tufts so that your animal can safely distribute it in the nest itself.

In short

  • Soft and airy cotton nesting material for little nest builders
  • Suitable for mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, and gerbils
  • Ideal for making a warm and sheltered nest
  • With natural plant texture for a calm, natural look
  • Always offer in small, short tufts of no more than 5 cm.

Advantages of Nature Cotton Soft Nesting Material

Wonderfully soft for the nest: cotton fluff feels airy and comfortable, allowing your pet to create a warm and sheltered sleeping spot.
Stimulates natural nesting behavior: small rodents can collect, move, and incorporate the material into their nest themselves.
Natural look: the visible parts of the cotton plant give the material extra structure and a pure appearance.
Economical to use: because you offer it in small bunches, a 3-liter container lasts a long time.
Easy to combine: great to use alongside a good layer of bedding , nesting material , and natural enclosure furnishings.

Why choose cotton nesting material?

Many small rodents enjoy building their own nest. They use this nest to sleep, shelter, retain warmth, and retreat when they want peace and quiet. Soft nesting material helps your pet put together a comfortable little nest on its own in a spot it likes.

Nature Cotton Soft Nesting Material is particularly suitable as extra soft nesting material in the sleeping area. It is not a substitute for good diggable bedding, but rather a supplement to it. For hamsters, dwarf hamsters, mice, and gerbils, a generous layer of bedding remains important, while the cotton can be used for the soft nest inside a house, tunnel, or sheltered corner.

For which animals is Nature Cotton Soft Nesting Material suitable?

  • Mouse: very suitable as soft nesting material. Mice like to build nests and can carry small tufts to their sleeping place themselves.
  • Dwarf hamster: suitable for the sleeping nest. Offer the cotton in short, loose tufts so that your dwarf hamster can work with it itself.
  • Hamster: suitable as extra soft nesting material in the house or near the nest corner. Combine with a deep layer of bedding to support natural digging behavior.
  • Gerbil: suitable in small quantities as a soft supplement. Gerbils often build sturdy nests with bedding, hay, and cardboard; cotton can be added as a soft layer.
  • Dwarf rat and rat: only suitable as a small, soft addition if your animals handle it carefully. For rats, larger pieces of fabric, paper nesting material, or hanging spots are often more practical.
  • Guinea pig, rabbit, and chinchilla: we do not recommend this product as standard nesting material for these animals. For these animals, hay, bedding, and suitable hiding places are usually more logical and practical.

How do you use Nature Cotton Soft Nesting Material?

Always pull small, loose tufts from the packaging. Make the tufts short, airy, and manageable, preferably no more than 5 cm long. Then place the material in or near the sleeping house so that your animal can take it along and incorporate it into the nest itself.

Never give the entire contents of the package at once. By first pulling the material apart and offering it in small tufts, it remains easier for your animal to handle. Check the nest regularly and replace soiled or damp material when necessary.

Preferably use cotton nesting material together with other enclosure components that support natural behavior, such as a good layer of bedding , a suitable house , and sufficientenrichment in the enclosure.

Compound

Composition: cotton, natural parts of the cotton plant.

The natural structure makes this nesting material soft and airy, while the small plant particles provide a recognizable, natural appearance. Because the product is intended as nesting material and not as food, your animal does not need to eat it.

Good to know

Always offer cotton nesting material in small, short, and loose tufts. Check the nest regularly and remove long strands, compressed pieces, or soiled material. If you notice that your animal is actively eating the material or keeps dragging it around in a way that seems unpleasant, it is better to choose a different type of nesting material, such as paper nesting material or soft hay.

Frequently asked questions about cotton nesting material

Is cotton nesting material suitable for hamsters?

Yes, cotton nesting material can be suitable for hamsters when offered in small, short tufts. It is primarily intended as a soft addition to the sleeping nest, alongside a good layer of bedding.

Can I give the whole package at once?

No, we do not recommend that. Always pull off small tufts of no more than 5 cm and only give a manageable amount. This way, your animal can calmly process the material in the nest itself.

Is this nesting material suitable for guinea pigs or rabbits?

For guinea pigs and rabbits, this product is not the most logical choice as standard nesting material. For these animals, hay, suitable bedding, and nice hiding places are usually more practical.

Where do I put the nesting material?

Place the material in small clumps near the sleeping house or close to the nesting corner. Many small rodents enjoy taking the material to their favorite sleeping spot themselves.
