The Mixerama Dwarf Hamster Basic Menu is a complete Dwarf Hamster food for Dwarf Hamsters, such as: Roborovski Dwarf Hamster , Chinese Dwarf Hamster , Russian Dwarf Hamster and the Campbell's Dwarf Hamster and is a complete (pet food) natural food based on the kipi concept. The food has been specially developed for Dwarf Hamsters that are prone to diabetes. Based on this basic mixture, the food can be individually adapted to the hamster's needs. The mixture contains 70% mealy seeds and 30% oily seeds.

At Mixerama, we always strive for freshness! That's why we've decided to stop selling bulk packs of Mixerama natural foods. A small rodent eats an average of 6 to 10 grams of food per day. A 500-gram pack will last you 50 to 83 days, which equates to about 1.5 to 2.5 months—a very long time.

If you do need 2.5 kg of food, it's better to order five 500-gram bags instead of one 2.5 kg bag, for freshness reasons. Once a bag of organic food is opened, it needs to be eaten quickly to maintain freshness.

Animal protein

Proteins, often provided in the form of animal protein, such as insects, have been deliberately avoided in this mix because the oily seeds already contain calcium and protein. As a rule of thumb, the fattier a grain or nut is, the more protein and/or calcium it contains. Even the smallest grains, such as sesame or poppy seeds, are true bundles of calcium and protein. Even meal seeds and straw-like grass seeds contain high-quality protein.

Grass seeds

A grass seed mixture (for example: 20g red fescue, 20g knucklegrass, 20g bluegrass) can be offered alongside the main food. Simply sprinkle one to two teaspoons into the feed once a week.

Nibbles

Every dwarf hamster especially loves dandelion roots, which they've been eating for a while. It should be available daily, as the inulin it contains benefits not only their teeth but also their intestines.

Herbs & Flowers

A suitable and relatively popular choice for dwarf hamsters is a potpourri of ribwort, nettle, chickweed, birch, hazelnut, lemon balm, and especially dandelion leaves. Stems such as parsley, celery, or dill are also quite popular. The following mixtures are ideal: 40g of dandelion leaves, 20g of ribwort, 20g of nettle leaves, and 10g each of chickweed, birch, or hazelnut leaves, lemon balm leaves, and various stems.

Pumpkin, cucumber, or hemp seeds can be given separately as a treat to dwarf hamsters. Silver millet on the tufted and flax ears is a great snack and a great activity. Sunflower and pine nuts are also allowed, but no more than one stone per day.
