Ferret houses, baskets & cushions – hiding places and sleeping areas for real sleepyheads
Ferrets love to sleep warm, dark, and curled up in a safe hiding place. With the right houses, baskets, and pillows, you can make their habitat not only more cozy but also more peaceful: multiple sleeping areas allow your ferret(s) to choose where they want to sleep. Which sleeping place suits your ferret(s)?
The best choice depends on three things: where you'll be using the sleeping area (cage or room), how many ferrets you'll be keeping together, and how vigorously they'll chew . These rules of thumb will help you quickly find the right one:
- For the cage: hammock/hanging bag for “sleeping at the top”, plus a closed-off cave or sleeping bag for security.
- For a run or ferret-proof room: a sturdy basket, pet cave or blanket as a permanent "home base".
