Benefits of De Knaagdier Kruidenier Apple Cubes

Natural fruit moment: the cubes are made from air-dried apple and therefore have a clear, pure apple flavour.
No added sugar: a nice choice when you want a simple fruit treat without extra additions.
Easy to portion: the cube shape makes it simple to offer a small amount that suits your pet.
Great for foraging: hide a few cubes between hay, herbs or in a snack board to encourage natural searching behaviour.
Practical as a reward: ideal for bonding moments, taming or simply as a small treat from the hand.

Why choose air-dried apple cubes?

Fresh apple is tasty, but not always practical when you only want to offer small amounts. These air-dried apple cubes are easy to store, quick to take and simple to offer in small portions. That makes them convenient for owners who like to give something fruity without having to cut fresh apple every time.

De Knaagdier Kruidenier® focuses on natural treats and herbs that suit mindful feeding and enrichment. These apple cubes fit nicely into that approach: simple in composition, appealing in scent and useful for making treat moments more varied.

Which animals are Apple Cubes suitable for?

  • Mouse: suitable as a small piece of fruity reward. Offer a small cube or part of a cube as an extra.
  • Dwarf hamster: suitable as a very small occasional treat. Because apple naturally contains fruit sugars, careful portioning is important.
  • Hamster: suitable as a small fruit treat in moderation. Also fun to hide in a foraging spot.
  • Gerbil: suitable as an occasional treat and useful as a searching extra in a natural setup.
  • Dwarf rat: suitable as a small reward or treat during bonding moments.
  • Rat: suitable as a tasty reward. Rats often enjoy fruity extras, but these should also be offered in moderation.
  • Guinea pig: suitable as a small treat in moderation. Hay, suitable guinea pig food and appropriate fresh vegetables remain the daily basis.
  • Rabbit: suitable as a small reward in moderation. Hay always remains the most important basis of the diet.

How do you offer Apple Cubes?

Offer Apple Cubes as a supplementary treat alongside the daily diet. Start with a small amount, especially if your pet is not yet used to fruit. For small animals, you can break a cube into smaller pieces if needed.

You can offer the cubes by hand, mix them through a herb blend or use them in a foraging toy. They also work well between hay or herbs: your pet has to sniff and search before finding the treat.

Composition

Composition: air-dried apple.

The composition is simple and natural. Apple naturally contains fruit sugars, so this treat is best used as a small reward moment rather than a daily main part of the diet. By portioning it mindfully, it remains a lovely and tasty variation.

Good to know

These Apple Cubes contain no added sugar. Because apple is naturally fruity and sweet, we recommend offering them as a treat and not feeding them too generously. For chinchillas and degus, we prefer plain herbs, leaves, flowers or fibre-rich treats that better suit their daily feeding routine.

Store the cubes in a cool, dry place and keep them well sealed. This protects them from moisture and keeps them pleasant to use.
