Product description

Trixie Corner House Thordis 35 cm for Rodents!

The Thordis Corner House from Trixie is a nice shelter or sleeping house for rodents. Thanks to the corner shape, the house can be placed very practically in a corner of the residence and thus takes up less space. The flat roof of the Thordis provides extra space in the accommodation and can be used as a plateau on which a food bowl can be placed. The Thordis house has an open bottom for good ventilation and is made of untreated natural wood.

Made of untreated bark wood
Takes up less space due to corner placement
The flat roof gives an extra seat
Open bottom for good ventilation

What is the advantage of the flat roof?

The flat roof of the Trixie Thordis House has the advantage that it is a stable place to place, for example, a small food or drinking bowl, but it is also a nice place to put down a snack, for example.

What is the best way to clean the house?

A wooden house can be cleaned in a simple way, depending on the use of the animals. The animals can use the house as a shelter, in that case it will remain quite clean, but the animals can also use the houses as food storage or as a sleeping house and if you are really unlucky also as a toilet , but luckily that doesn't happen very often . If the animals do leave a puddle on the house, which often happens with Muisjes, we recommend a urine spray . This breaks down the urine of the animals and in this way cleans the wood.

For which animals is the Trixie Thordis House suitable?

The Trixie Thordis House 35 cm is a larger house that is suitable in size as a sleeping or shelter for Rats , Guinea pigs, and Chinchillas . For Chinchillas and Degus it is good to know that this house is not nail free. Since Chinchillas and Degus are real rodents, care must be taken when these animals start gnawing at the house.

Can this house be used for group animals?

Yes, that is possible, but we always recommend for group animals (Rats, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas, Degus) to place at least one large house in the enclosure in which all animals fit together. Group animals like to be together and often shelter and sleep together. In that sense, the Thordis Corner House is large enough to accommodate several Rats and Degus, but several Guinea Pigs or Chinchillas can be too small.
