The Rock Hideout is a low, natural-looking rock house made of resin. Its steppe rock look fits beautifully into a natural setup, hamster scaping, mouse scaping or gerbil scaping. The hideout gives your animal a sheltered place to crawl under, walk through or sit calmly out of sight.
This hideout is available in several sizes. The 17 cm version is suitable for small rodents such as mice and dwarf hamsters. The 24 cm version suits mice, dwarf hamsters and Syrian Hamsters (Golden Hamsters). The 27 cm version is suitable for mice, dwarf hamsters, Syrian Hamsters (Golden Hamsters) and gerbils. The largest 32 cm version is also suitable for dwarf rats.

Small rodents feel more comfortable when they have several sheltered spots in their enclosure. A hideout gives calm and choice: your animal can decide whether it wants to be visible, sit underneath a shelter or move through the enclosure using another route.
The Rock Hideout is low and fairly flat in shape. This makes it suitable not only as a shelter, but also as part of the walking route. Animals can crawl underneath, move along it or walk over it when the hideout is placed securely. In this way, you add more structure to the enclosure in a simple way.
The resin material is practical in daily use. It is smoother than wood and therefore easier to wipe down when bedding, food leftovers or nesting material collect around the hideout. Thanks to the rock look, the house combines nicely with bedding, sand, moss, cork, tunnels and other natural setup items.
The right size depends on the animal you are using the hideout for. It is better not to choose too small: your animal should be able to move in and out easily without having to squeeze through an opening.
For adult Syrian Hamsters (Golden Hamsters), the 24 cm version is the smallest logical choice. If you want more room or a more robust setup element, 27 cm is often more comfortable. For gerbils, choose at least 27 cm. For dwarf rats, choose the largest version.
Place the Rock Hideout low and stable on the bedding or work it lightly into the bedding layer. Thanks to the open bottom, the hideout connects nicely with the bedding and your animal can sit sheltered underneath. Make sure the entrance remains easy to access and that bedding does not pile up in front of the opening.
Because the rock house is fairly flat, it can also be used as part of the route. Mice and dwarf hamsters can walk over it, hamsters can use it as a low orientation point and gerbils can include it in their digging and tunnel environment. Keep it low: do not use the hideout as a high platform or climbing object.
In a natural setup, you can finish the edges with bedding, moss or cork. This makes the rock look more like part of the landscape and creates natural transitions between sleeping, walking, digging and foraging.

Lift the hideout regularly to check underneath and around it. Remove bedding, food leftovers or nesting material when needed. Wipe the hideout with a damp cloth and let it dry well before placing it back.
Check the hideout before use and regularly afterwards for sharp edges, damage or wear. Feel especially around the entrance and lower edge. If you feel a sharp edge, you can carefully smooth it before using the product.
For dwarf hamsters, you can use all sizes. The 17 cm version is compact and suitable as a small hideout. Choose a larger size when you want to create more route, scaping or space in the enclosure.
For Syrian Hamsters (Golden Hamsters), choose at least the 24 cm version. The 27 cm version is more comfortable when you want a roomier hideout or larger setup element.
For gerbils, choose the 27 cm or 32 cm version. Always place the hideout securely, as gerbils actively dig and can move bedding around.
Yes, the largest 32 cm version is suitable for dwarf rats as a low hideout or route point. Always offer several hiding places when keeping multiple dwarf rats.
Yes, that is one of the nice things about this low rock house. Place the hideout low and stable so your animal can move over it safely.
Wipe the hideout with a damp cloth and let it dry well before placing it back. At the same time, check for sharp edges, wear or damage.

Erg leuk en mooi voor een hamsterscaping
Erg leuk hamsterhuisje voor een dwerghamster. Hij had wel iets minder plat gemogen dan was hij net wat royaler geweest. Maar verder echt n toppertje
Erop, eronder, ernaast, hamstertje is hier heel blij mee!
