The Mixerama menu for gerbils is a complete gerbil food formulated for the special dietary needs of Mongolian gerbils. Its base is a grain mixture with a 70:30 ratio of flour and oilseeds. This food is supplemented with nuts, seeds, vegetable and animal protein (5%), and vegetables.
The 9.5% vegetable content makes the food healthy and low in fat. Bell peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers are just a few of the ingredients included. The necessary proteins are provided by animal proteins in the form of mealworms and freshwater shrimp.
The high-quality oilseeds are carefully selected. Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids are important components of the diet. In addition, oilseeds are rich in vitamins, minerals, and trace elements.
The gourmet menu for Mongolian gerbils is a complete food, but should be supplemented daily with fresh food and, if necessary, with additional animal proteins, nuts and seeds, and sprouted food (rodent sprouts).
✔ 100% Natural
✔ Packed in a protective atmosphere
✔ Plastic-free packaging made of cellulose. These bags are biodegradable and compostable.
At Mixerama, we always strive for freshness! That's why we've decided to stop selling Mixerama natural food in bulk. Instead, we're now offering volume discounts for anyone with a large rodent population. This way, larger quantities can still be purchased affordably, but in a much fresher and better-proportioned package.
A small rodent eats an average of 6 to 10 grams of food per day. A 500-gram package will last you 50 to 83 days, which equates to about 1.5 to 2.5 months, which is actually far too long.
If you do need 2.5 kg of food, it's better to order five 500-gram bags instead of one 2.5 kg bag, for freshness reasons. Once a bag of organic food is opened, it needs to be eaten quickly to maintain freshness.
In addition to its main diet, the fat-tailed gerbil should also be fed (dried) insects. Fat-tailed gerbils are naturally insectivores, as evidenced by their pointed snouts. Gerbil food is a very good foundation for the fat-tailed gerbil, but they should also be fed (dried) mealworms, crickets, beetles, etc. daily. To meet these dietary needs, we also offer various insect mixes for these animals.
