JR Farm Hay Cube Mealworms is a natural snack cube made of mountain meadow hay with mealworms. The cube has a sturdy hay and fiber structure that your animal can sniff, nibble, and explore. Thanks to the opening in the middle, the cube also serves as a fun small hiding or search spot within the enclosure.
This hay cube is particularly interesting for mixed-feeding rodents such as hamsters, dwarf hamsters, mice, and gerbils. The addition of 1% mealworms makes the product attractive for animals that may be fed animal protein sources alongside plant-based food.
You can place the cube loosely in the enclosure, use it as a foraging spot, or combine it with a few small, matching snacks around the opening. This way, a simple snack time immediately becomes a fun activity.

✔ Compact size of 12 x 12 x 12 cm
Many small rodents enjoy searching, nibbling, and collecting. The JR Farm Hay Cube Mealworms fits in perfectly with this. The cube is sturdy enough to be placed as a natural object in the enclosure, yet at the same time interesting to sniff at and discover piece by piece.
The base consists of mountain meadow hay, vegetable starch, and lignocellulose. This gives the cube its fiber-rich structure. The addition of mealworms makes this product particularly attractive to animals that can utilize animal protein sources in their diet, such as hamsters, mice, and gerbils.
Thanks to its hollow shape, you can also use the hay cube as part of a foraging session. For example, place a few suitable treats or some herbs around the opening. Your animal will then have to sniff and search, making the snack time longer and more enjoyable.
JR Farm Hay Cube Mealworms is particularly suitable for mixed-feed rodents. Adjust usage to the animal species, the size of your animal, and its normal feeding pattern.
For true herbivores such as rabbits, guinea pigs, degus, and chinchillas, you are better off choosing a hay cube or hay product without an animal protein source.
Place the hay cube in a dry, stable spot in the enclosure. You can place it freestanding, partially incorporate it into a natural setup, or use it as a small foraging point. Allow your animal to calmly discover how the cube smells, feels, and can be used.
Want to make the search extra fun? Then hide a few small, suitable snacks, seeds, or herbs around the opening. Use small amounts at a time so that it remains primarily an active search.
Check the cube regularly. Remove wet or soiled residue and replace the product when it is heavily chewed or no longer stays fresh.
The hay cube weighs 125 grams. The lifespan depends on the animal species and how actively your animal nibbles on it. Some animals use the cube primarily as an exploration spot, while others are quicker to gnaw on the edges. Use it as supplementary enrichment alongside the daily main food.

Niks voor ons. Onze hamster was er niet gek op en wij vonden het erg stinken. Onze kooi staat in de huiskamer dus de cubus lag dezelfde dag al in de kliko. Sorry!
