Important to know about the Coroplast tray

The Coroplast tray is practical because it is waterproof, lightweight, and easy to clean. The raised edges help to better keep hay, bedding, and loose debris within the enclosure. At the same time, it is good to know that Coroplast is not chew-proof. If you notice guinea pigs gnawing on the edges, providing sufficient gnawing material , distractions, and enrichment often helps.

If you expand the cage later, the standard bottom tray does not automatically grow with it. For the extra section, you then choose a suitable base or finish yourself.

Cleaning the C&C cage

A C&C guinea pig cage is easy to keep clean when you work with zones. Remove wet hay, wet pee pads, and soiled litter in time. The main base then does not always need to be completely replaced.

A practical routine is:

• Remove wet hay and visible puddles daily
• Regularly change pee pads in fixed wet spots
• keep toilet bedding in the hayloft
• keep feeding and watering areas clean
• Check the Coroplast bottom for dirt along edges and corners.
• Keep the loft clean using a loose pee pad or soft surface.

Good to know

A C&C guinea pig cage is flexible, but works best when the assembly remains calm and logical. Check that the panels are standing firmly, that connectors are securely fastened, and that the bottom fits together neatly. This ensures the enclosure remains pleasant to use and easy to maintain.

The Loft 2x2 is intended as an extra living zone and not as a replacement for basic floor space. For guinea pigs, the space at floor level therefore always remains the most important starting point. Build the loft securely and use the included ramp so that your animals can safely make use of the upper level.
