How quiet is this running wheel?

We always measure the volume at least one meter away from the wheel. As soon as the rodent sets the wheel in motion, all you can hear from this distance is the animal's footsteps. Cork wheels are slightly quieter because the cork layer acts as natural insulation.

Riders who use their wheels intensively (or occasionally "fiddle around") make things extra easy on themselves with a removable insert. Simply swap them out, clean them, and keep going.

Is this exercise wheel suitable for "exercisers"?

Absolutely! However, there's something to consider. We use the natural raw material wood or cork as the running surface for our wheels, and the wooden wheel is already pre-treated with a clear varnish, meaning a regular wooden wheel can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. We use a clear varnish that complies with DIN 71-3 and is harmless to rodents. If you experience a lot of wheel puddles, we recommend treating the wooden and cork wheels with at least 3-4 coats of clear varnish according to DIN 71-3 and painting them if necessary after wiping the running surfaces. This way, you'll enjoy your wheel for a very long time. And so will your hamster!

Is it dangerous if my rodent chews on the exercise wheel?

Absolutely not! We only use wood types that can be nibbled on without hesitation. No nails, staples, or anything similar are used, and only non-toxic wood glue is used to glue the wheels. So you don't have to worry if your rodent gets a taste for an exercise wheel!

What is the difference between a cork running wheel and a wooden running wheel without cork?

The running surface of the cork wheel is covered with cork, which effectively dampens the running noises of the rodents and is softer for their feet.
