At DRD Knaagdierwinkel, you can now easily and quickly purchase everything from JR Farm. These little fluffy friends can hardly contain their excitement when they discover the natural feeds, snacks, and herbs from JR Farm. It's like a delicious party in the rodent and rabbit paradise!
But first, let's take a look at the history of JR Farm. It all began on an ordinary farm called Pessenburgheim in Bavaria. There, the Ruisinger family shared their lives with a colorful collection of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, geese, and goats. Back then, there weren't many choices when it came to pet food, so the animal-loving Herta Ruisinger decided to use the harvest as feed. She delved deep into the animals' dietary habits, and together with her husband Jakob Ruisinger, they started developing and selling pet foods based on the well-being of the animals. The success was unstoppable, and in 1997, JR Farm GmbH was founded (JR stands for Jakob Ruisinger). The sale of natural products grew steadily, and soon the farm became too small. So, in the same year, the Ruisinger family decided to build their own company hall on the outskirts of the village.
To ensure that the quality remained consistent, JR Farm has been annually certified according to ISO9001:2000, including the HACCP concept, since 2006. In 2008, a bakery was even added to the company, creating a whole new production line for rodent and bird cookies, as well as baked sticks. Stefan Ruisinger, one of the three sons of Herta and Jakob Ruisinger, also joined as the third managing director in the same year. He has been closely involved with the company from a young age and completed his training as a salesperson in 2012. With a growing market throughout Europe, there was a need for a larger storage hall in 2010. Today, more than 200 employees work, and the company buildings cover about 6200 square meters. JR Farm still grows many herbs, such as nettle, peppermint, and melissa, on their own fields. This not only helps to produce affordable high-quality pet food but also allows packaging the food fresh from the land without much transportation. Despite the growth, the Ruisinger family remains grounded and true to their village roots. The boss himself is responsible for harvesting from the fields and continues to uphold their original values.
