The Barley Straw is a 100% natural product! This high quality straw is suitable for rodents and rabbits. The straw has undergone a special treatment in the Factory. The straw has been checked for metal, shaken to remove any stones and dust.

Barley Straw is very suitable as (extra) ground cover for the rabbit hutch outside. Straw insulates well and provides extra warmth in the winter.

Instructions for use Barley Straw

For small rodents as top layer (Mouse, Dwarf hamster, Hamster, Gerbil)
Barley Straw is very soft straw which makes it suitable for small rodents. However, it is not optimal and there are better alternatives for a nice top layer.
Fill the enclosure with the standard ground cover and place a layer of Barley Straw of 5 to 10 cm on top. If necessary, sprinkle some tasty treats through the layer and let the animals display their natural behavior by searching for their food (foraging).

For larger rodents as a top layer (Rat, Guinea pig, rabbit, Chinchilla, Degu)
Fill the enclosure with the standard ground cover and place a layer of Barley Straw of 10 to 20 cm on top (depending on the animal). If necessary, sprinkle some treats through the layer and let the animals display their natural behavior by searching for their food (foraging).

For use as ground cover
Fill the enclosure until the bottom is completely covered with the Barley Straw. A layer of 10 to 15 cm is sufficient, provided the bottom is completely covered.
