The Rock Bowl can be used as a food bowl. This is not its primary function. It's actually designed as a drinking trough for small animals, but it can also be used as a natural-looking feeding bowl. A food bowl ensures that animals know where to find their food. The keeper can easily see how much the animals have eaten by looking at the contents of the bowl. Furthermore, the food stays hygienically clean in a bowl. In short, a food bowl has many advantages! Place the bowl in a fixed location in the enclosure and fill it with the recommended amount of food for the animal.
A 12 cm bowl is suitable as a very spacious feeding bowl for small rodents such as mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, and gerbils. It's also an optional extra bowl for a group of degus.
17 cm is suitable as a feeding bowl for slightly larger rodents such as: Rat, Guinea pig, Rabbit, Chinchilla and Degu
A rock bowl can also be used as a water dish. It is very important to ensure good water hygiene. Water becomes contaminated more quickly in a water dish than in a drinking bottle. Fill the water dish with clean water and replace it daily, or more often if it becomes soiled.
12 and 15 cm is also suitable as an additional water bowl for slightly larger rodents such as: Rat, Guinea pig, Rabbit, Chinchilla and Degu.
The largest rock bowl (15 cm) can also be used as a sandbox for even the smallest rodents (mice, dwarf hamsters). Fill the bowl with a layer of chinchilla sand and the bathing can begin!
