Leyla is too small for gerbils and Syrian hamsters/golden hamsters. The openings and chambers are compact and therefore primarily designed for mice and dwarf hamsters. For gerbils, dwarf rats, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, this house is not suitable as a practical hiding place. For these animals, you would prefer to choose a larger house, a wider tunnel, or a sturdier platform that better suits their body size and movement patterns.

Use in hamsterscaping

Placement in the enclosure

Always place Leyla stably and low in the enclosure. A sturdy placement is especially important when your animal walks onto the roof via the ramp. Place the house on a flat surface and gradually build up the bedding around the house.

• Keep both entrances easily accessible.
• Always put the removable roof back neatly after inspection.
• Use the roof as a low route, not as a high climbing structure.
• Combine with nesting material, cork tunnels, a sand bath, and foraging spots.
• After furnishing, check that the house cannot tilt or subside.

Cleaning & maintenance

Thanks to the removable roof, you can inspect the chambers more easily. Gently remove soiled nesting material and check the chambers for stash, moisture, or dirt. Clean the wood thoroughly with a dry or slightly damp cloth and allow it to dry completely before replacing the house.
