Carefresh Confetti – soft paper bedding with a splash of colour
Carefresh Confetti gives your pet’s enclosure a soft, colourful base. The flakes are made from cellulose, a natural plant fibre also used to make paper. They absorb moisture and help control odours. You can use this paper bedding for rodents and rabbits, either as a complete bedding layer or mixed with another suitable bedding.
Would you like to add some colour to your hamsterscape? Scatter a little Carefresh Confetti over part of the floor or mix the flakes into your existing bedding. That way, you decide how colourful it becomes. If you want to fill the whole enclosure, the guide below helps you work out how many litres you need.

What makes Carefresh Confetti comfortable?
The soft flakes provide a comfortable surface, and small rodents can carry them to their nesting area. The absorbent material takes up moisture where it lands. Removing wet patches and topping them up helps keep the bedding clean without replacing all the material at every small clean.
The confetti colours give you plenty of freedom when setting up the enclosure. You can create a colourful base throughout or add colour to just one corner or the top layer. The latter is useful if you mainly want a decorative touch: the deep burrowing layer underneath can consist of another suitable bedding.
Which animals is this bedding suitable for?
- Mouse: as soft floor bedding and material to carry to the nesting area. Also provide enough depth for digging.
- Dwarf hamster: as part of a deep burrowing layer or a colourful addition to a hamsterscape.
- Hamster: suitable for Syrian hamsters as floor bedding and as an addition to a deep burrowing layer.
- Gerbil: for use in a deep, mixed burrowing layer. Combine suitable materials to help the layer hold together.
- Dwarf rat and rat: as absorbent floor bedding or a soft addition to a resting area. A separate digging box provides extra digging space.
- Guinea pig and rabbit: as soft, absorbent bedding on the floor or in a toilet area.
- Chinchilla and degu: as absorbent floor bedding. Adapt the rest of the enclosure and the digging opportunities to the species.
How do you use Carefresh Confetti?
Loosen the compressed flakes with your hands and spread them over a clean, dry floor. Mixing Carefresh Confetti with another bedding? Distribute both materials evenly. Gently press down a burrowing layer to help it hold together. Check the depth after pressing and add more where needed.
Provide dwarf hamsters with at least 15 cm of bedding. For Syrian hamsters, at least 25 cm is a suitable starting point. A deeper layer gives more room for burrowing. For Mongolian gerbils, provide at least 25 cm, preferably around 40 cm. A thin layer of Carefresh Confetti on top mainly adds colour; the total bedding depth provides the burrowing space.
Place heavy houses, sand baths and other heavy accessories on a firm base or a platform with legs resting on the enclosure floor. This keeps the furnishings stable when your pet digs underneath.
How many litres of bedding do you need?
The amount depends on the floor area and the bedding depth you want. Measure the inside of the enclosure and use centimetres:
Length × width × bedding depth ÷ 1000 = litres of bedding needed.
For example, a floor measuring 100 × 50 cm with a 20 cm layer needs approximately 100 litres. The table helps you work out the amount and number of packs. These measurements are calculation examples, rather than enclosure size recommendations for a particular species.

The number of packs has been rounded up. You can also combine pack sizes: for 75 litres, for example, use one 50-litre pack and three 10-litre packs. Keep any remaining bedding for topping up later.
The calculation gives an approximate volume. How firmly you press down the flakes and how much space the furnishings take up will affect actual use. Using Carefresh Confetti as part of a mixture? The calculated amount then refers to all bedding materials together. A 2 cm colour layer over 100 × 50 cm, for example, needs around 10 litres of Carefresh Confetti.
Cleaning and storage
Check toilet areas, the bedding around the drinking area and other places that become wet quickly every day. Remove wet or dirty flakes and top up with clean material. Check beneath the top layer too: moisture can collect there even when the surface still looks dry.
How often a larger clean is needed depends on the species, number of animals, available space and use of toilet areas. Follow the condition of the bedding rather than a fixed replacement schedule. Store the remaining bedding in a dry place and close the pack after use.

Goed product mijn hamster is er blij mee een aanrader
Mooie kleur, had eerst wit nu confetti, een van de beste bodembedekkingen, maar bij mij zaten er een paar kleine blokjes stof in? Bij de witte was dat niet.

Geweldig materiaal en leuk en kleurrijk! Mijn ratjes zijn er dol op en het blijf lang goed. We waarderen ook dat het van zichzelf geen geur heeft
Geweldig product, mijn hamster vindt het super en maakt er zijn nestje van. En het is veilig zodat ik weet dat hij niet stikt erin zoals bv bij watten. Raad dit echt aan. En het ziet er ook nog leuk uit in de terrarium/kooi met die kleurtjes.
Mijn russische dwerghamster is er helemaal gek op. Hij heeft verschillende huisjes in zijn hok, dat legt hij vol met confetti en hij bouwt ook zelf nog een holletje met dit spul. Ik heb dit naast back2nature bodembedekking. En geen stank.

Een heel fijn product, ziet er vrolijk uit en niemand in huis heeft allergische reacties. Het product blijft minimaal 4 weken fris.
Eerste ervaringen met Carefresh: eindelijk na een tijd overdenken geprobeerd. Eerst had ik hennepvezel in de toilethoeken van de rattenkooi. Dat begon echt te stinken na een dag al, heel zurig. (Ik vervang de boel na een dag of twee standaard.) Nu ik er carefresh heb ingedaan kan ik merken dat de geur na twee dagen er bijna niet is, en dan lijken de heren het ook heerlijk te vinden erin te slapen. (Ik kan toch niet de enige zijn waarin de dieren in het begin na verschonen in de poepbak slapen :D?) Ook in de dameskooi leken ze het leuk te vinden als ik het met de hennepvezel vermeng, plukjes werden als nestmaterie gebruikt. Nadeel is dat het relatief prijzig is, en ik het daarom niet als volledige bodembedekker voor ratten kan aanraden, die toch echt eens per week ongeacht bodembedekking goed verschoond moeten worden. Voor hamsters zou het echter wel kunnen, want het staat echt ontzettend vrolijk in de kooien!
Wij gebruiken CareFresh als bodembedekker in het hok van onze 3 cavia's en zijn heel tevreden! Blijft superlang droog en we hebben geen last meer van vieze geurtjes, wat we wel hadden met 'gewoon' zaagsel. Om de twee dagen verversen we de bedekking op de plekken waar veel wordt geplast. Op die manier doe je heel lang met één pak Carefresh. Het is in aanschaf wat duurder, maar z'n geld meer dan waard!

Super Leuke bodembedekking!
De Carefresh Bodembedekkers zijn echt heel erg fijn in gebruik. Mijn hamster kan er ook leuke holletjes in maken en het gaat ook nog lang mee. Ik vind vooral de kleurtjes heel leuk! Mooi dat Carefresh weer terug is en hier te koop!
