Product description

Trixie Wooden Bridge with Bark 63 cm for Rodents & Rabbits

The Trixie Wooden Bridge with Bark 63 cm is a large, natural wooden bridge that can be used in multiple ways in the enclosure. For guinea pigs and rabbits, the bridge is particularly practical as a low step or entry and exit. For small rodents such as mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, and gerbils, it is a beautiful, large landscaping element that can be used as a bridge, wall, platform, or natural divider in the enclosure.

Thanks to the bark wood, the bridge has a calm, natural appearance. This makes it not only functional but also beautiful in a naturally designed enclosure. Think of hamsterscaping, gerbilscaping, a natural guinea pig cage, or a rabbit enclosure where different zones are logically connected.

Why choose this wooden bridge?

A good enclosure setup consists not only of loose accessories, but of logical routes and safe transitions. This wooden bridge helps with that. You can use it to make a low entrance more easily accessible, create a route over bedding, or introduce a natural difference in height within the enclosure.

For guinea pigs and rabbits, the stepping function is particularly interesting. Many enclosures, runs, or shelters have a small ledge or entrance. A low, stable wooden bridge makes such a transition easier. Guinea pigs are not true climbers, so use the bridge for them primarily low and practical: as a gentle ramp, a short connection, or a step to a low entrance.

For hamsters, dwarf hamsters, mice, and gerbils, the size is particularly interesting because the bridge can be much more than just a bridge. You can place it partially in the bedding, use it as a natural wall behind a sand section, or deploy it as a divider between different zones. This creates more structure in the enclosure and gives your animal more opportunities to walk, sniff, hide, and explore.

The bridge can also be used by rats and pygmy rats as a runway or low connection, for example between two floor sections or as part of a natural setup. When dealing with strong rodents, ensure that wood can be used visibly. This is inherent to natural materials, but regular checks remain advisable.

How do you use the wooden bridge per animal?

For mice

This bridge is large for mice, making it primarily suitable as a climbing wall, barrier, or route over a thick layer of bedding. Place it stably and low so that mice can easily walk over it and potentially hide underneath.

For dwarf hamsters

For dwarf hamsters, this bridge fits well in a naturally decorated enclosure. Use it, for example, as a wall behind the sand bath, as a divider between bedding and the digging zone, or as a low bridge over part of the enclosure. Its large size allows you to create nice depth and texture.

For hamsters

For hamsters, the bridge can serve as a runway, natural wall, or platform above the bedding. Place it low and stable, especially when using it as a platform. This prevents high points of failure from forming around the house, sand bath, or other furnishings.

For gerbils

Gerbils are active diggers and gnawers. This wooden bridge can be used effectively as a sturdy divider, tunnel, landscaping wall, or bridge in a gerbil enclosure. By placing it partially in the bedding, a natural transition is created between the digging area, the sand area, and the runway. Regularly check gerbils for strong gnawing marks.

For pygmy rats and rats

For pygmy rats and rats, the bridge can be used as a wide walkway or a low connection within the enclosure. Place it down securely and preferably do not use it as a separate, high climbing structure. Rats are strong and agile, making stability important.

For guinea pigs

For guinea pigs, this bridge is particularly useful as a low step or entry and exit. Think of it as a transition to a run, a low cage rim, or a hiding area. Since guinea pigs are not true climbers, it is best to use the bridge as a gentle ramp rather than a steep climbing bridge.

For rabbits

For rabbits, the bridge can be used as a low step, a natural transition, or a small connection within the enclosure. This can be particularly useful for small height differences. Install the bridge securely and ensure it cannot shift when your rabbit jumps on it or walks across it.

For chinchillas

The bridge is only suitable for chinchillas if it is placed stably, low, and safely. Chinchillas are powerful jumpers and gnawers, so do not use the bridge as a high, loose structure. Check the wood regularly for wear.

Bark wood: natural material with character

The wooden bridge is made of bark wood. This gives each piece its own unique natural appearance. As a result, no two bridges are exactly the same. The structure, color, and bark may vary slightly from product to product. This fits perfectly with the natural character of this item.

Because bark is a natural material, it can sometimes happen that a small piece of bark comes loose in one spot. This is not a product defect, but a characteristic of this type of wood. The bridge remains fully usable as a result, as long as the wood is otherwise sturdy and stable.

Bark wood for rodents and rabbits

What about resin in bark wood?

When it comes to wooden products for rodents and rabbits, it is logical that you want to know which wood you are placing in the enclosure. This bark wood is intended for animal products and is dried during production. Through this drying process, moisture is removed from the wood and natural sap and resin residues are eliminated as much as possible.

The wood used complies with European guidelines for this type of animal product. This makes this bridge suitable as a natural furnishing element, step, or pathway in the enclosure. However, as with all wooden products, it is important to check the item regularly, especially with animals that like to gnaw vigorously.

Convenient to combine with

Good to know

Always place the wooden bridge stably so that it cannot tip over or shift. For small rodents, preferably use it low in the enclosure or partially in the bedding. For guinea pigs and rabbits, a low, gentle ramp is most practical. Regularly check the wood for sharp edges, deep gnaw marks, or loose parts, and replace the product if it has been gnawed too far.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this wooden bridge suitable for hamsterscaping?

Yes, due to its large size, this wooden bridge is very suitable as a climbing wall, natural divider, or low bridge in a hamster enclosure. Especially with a thick layer of bedding, you can create beautiful zones with it.

Can this bridge be used for guinea pigs?

Yes, for guinea pigs, the bridge is especially useful as a low step or for entry and exit. Do not use it too steeply, because guinea pigs are not real climbers.

Is the bridge also suitable for rabbits?

Yes, the bridge can be used for rabbits as a low step or natural transition. Place it down firmly and ensure it cannot shift during use.

Can my pet gnaw on the wood?

Wood in a rodent or rabbit enclosure can always be gnawed on. This is normal behavior. However, check the product regularly and remove it if sharp edges or loose parts appear.

Why can bark sometimes peel off?

Bark wood is a natural material. As a result, a small piece of bark may come loose in some places. This is part of the material and makes each product unique.

With the Trixie Wooden Bridge with Bark 63 cm, you add a practical and natural element to the enclosure. A great choice for owners who are looking for more than just a bridge; they also want to create more structure, routes, and a natural look.

Konijnen zijn er helemaal blij mee. Springen of rennen er constant op. En gebruiken brug, ik heb twee naast elkaar, als holletje. De cavias houden niet van klimmen, maar knagen er heerlijk aan .
