Product description

Foraging Carousel – vegetables and leaves on a rotating food holder

The Foraging Carousel is a wooden food holder for guinea pigs and rabbits. Attach vegetables or leaves to the four skewers. The top section rotates, allowing the food to change position during feeding. It is a different way to offer part of the daily vegetable portion and add variety to mealtimes.

The carousel is made from untreated wood and stands on a wooden base. Place it on a level surface, fill the skewers and let your pets discover how to reach the food. Two spare skewers are included.

What does the carousel add to feeding time?

A vegetable portion does not always have to go in a bowl. This carousel lets you offer food at different points around the holder. When the top section turns, the vegetables move with it. Your pet can sniff, take a piece and move around to another side of the holder.

The food stays visible. Your pet does not need to lift a lid or open a hidden compartment. The variety comes from the turning movement and the way you present the vegetables. This makes the holder a practical choice if you want to vary the daily feeding routine.

You decide how to fill the skewers. Start with a few easy-to-reach pieces, for example, then distribute more vegetables or leaves around the holder later. You do not need to fill every skewer completely to create an interesting feeding activity.

Which animals is the carousel suitable for?

  • Guinea pig: suitable for offering part of the vegetable portion or edible leaves. Divide the food between different skewers so there is something to explore around the holder.
  • Rabbit: suitable as a rotating vegetable holder and for variety during feeding. Place the carousel on the floor with enough room to move around it.

If you have several pets, provide other feeding spots too. This lets animals that prefer to eat elsewhere take their own portion while a curious pet investigates the carousel.

How do you use the Foraging Carousel?

  1. Place the carousel on a level, firm surface. Check that the wooden base stands steadily.
  2. Choose vegetables or edible leaves your pets already know.
  3. Attach the food to the wooden skewers. Arrange the pieces so your pet can reach them easily.
  4. Check that the top section can turn freely without touching other furnishings.
  5. Let your pets investigate the holder at their own pace and stay nearby during use.
  6. Remove leftover fresh food after feeding and clean the holder.

Slide the food onto the skewers so it stays in place while your pet nibbles. You can loosely fold leaves around a skewer and attach them. There is no need to make a tightly packed vegetable kebab: a few pieces already offer a different way to eat.

Use part of the usual vegetable portion. This changes the way you offer food without adding an extra amount. Vary the filling with suitable vegetables and leaves that already form part of the daily diet.

Placement and cleaning

The carousel works best in an open spot on the floor. Avoid placing it so close to a house, wall or tunnel that the rotating section becomes blocked. Leave space around the base too, so your pets can reach the food from different sides.

Untreated wood needs simple, careful cleaning. Remove food remains after use and wipe dirty areas with a slightly damp cloth. Allow the carousel to dry completely before filling it again. Do not leave it soaking in water.

Check the holder and skewers regularly for wear, splinters and damage. The two included spare skewers are useful when a used skewer needs replacing. Offer the carousel under supervision and stop using any damaged part.
