What is hiding between the wooden pieces? With the Foraging Forest, a little treat becomes a searching game. Sprinkle a few wild seeds between the wooden parts or hide a little of Grandma's Vegetable & Herb Mix there. Your hamster can then use its nose and front paws to find the tasty pieces.

This gives your hamster the chance to search for little bites instead of simply taking them from a food bowl. A lovely activity for curious Syrian hamsters that enjoy exploring and keeping busy.

RIO Wild Seed Mix 240 g

This seed mix is handy for creating little foraging spots. Sprinkle a small amount over the top layer of bedding, hide a few seeds in the Foraging Forest or spread them around different parts of the enclosure. Your hamster can then set off on its own little adventure.

You only need a small amount. A little scattered in different places already creates several spots to sniff and search through.

Italian Millet Sprays

New to our range: Italian millet sprays! A lovely change from familiar millet sprays, with a different colour, flavour and texture. They give your hamster the chance to pick out the tiny seeds.

Push the stems into the bedding so that the sprays stick up like little trees. Keep them at a height your hamster can reach. Your hamster may nibble directly from them, or it might pull a stem down and carry its harvest to a favourite spot.

Flax Sprays 200 g

Flax sprays are a real hamster favourite with us. It is lovely to watch a hamster hold a little seed capsule between its front paws and carefully nibble it open to reach the seeds inside.

Place a few stems around the enclosure or create a small harvesting corner. This gives the flax a lovely place in your hamsterscape and lets your hamster get busy collecting and opening the capsules.

Spelt Ears

This time, we have also added a few spelt ears. A lovely change for hamsters that have already discovered wheat ears! The firm ears take a little work before the grains come loose.

Lay an ear in an accessible spot or push the stem into the bedding among the other seed sprays. This creates a varied harvesting corner with different shapes and textures to explore.

Grandma's Vegetable & Herb Mix

As soon as you open the bag, you are greeted by the scent of dried herbs. This vegetable and herb mix adds variety in scent, flavour and texture. Just a small amount mixed into your hamster's usual food is enough.

You can also hide a little between the wooden pieces of the Foraging Forest. This lets your hamster alternate between searching for seeds and discovering other scents and little bites.

Grain-Free Carrot-Shaped Chew

This firm, grain-free carrot-shaped chew gives your hamster something to nibble when it feels like it. Place it in an easily accessible spot in the enclosure and let your hamster discover what it wants to do with it.

Some hamsters start straight away, while others have an occasional nibble. There is no need to finish the whole carrot at once.

As winter approaches, a soft nest fits the season beautifully. Cotton Nature Soft Nest lets your hamster line its sleeping spot just the way it likes.

Offer a few small, loose tufts and let your hamster collect and arrange them. Watching it carry nesting material around is part of the fun of seeing its own little nest take shape.

Exotic Color Bedding & Nesting Material

This soft paper material in white and blue fits beautifully into a winter hamsterscape. Use it to create a colourful corner in the enclosure or offer a few loose tufts as nesting material alongside the soft cotton.

Your hamster can choose which pieces to carry to its sleeping spot. You give the enclosure a winter look, and your hamster does the rest.

Desert Sand

The desert sand has a soft, natural colour that goes well with wood, seed sprays and other natural materials. It gives your hamster a different surface to explore.

A fun idea to try: remove the loose wooden pieces from the Foraging Forest tray and use the tray as a sand area. A thin layer of sand is enough. This lets you offer the same accessory in different ways: as a foraging game one time and as a sand tray another.

Create a New Discovery Spot Each Time

You do not need to offer everything at once. Start with a few seeds in the Foraging Forest and some seed sprays in the bedding, for example. Later, you can add a different ear of grain or give the tray a new purpose. This way, the same box keeps offering fresh ideas, and you will naturally discover what your hamster enjoys doing most.
