Product description

Bunny Nature Health GastroBalance 200 grams

Sometimes you just want to have something good on hand for when your pet seems a little off balance. Bunny Nature Health GastroBalance is a dietary supplement for dwarf rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and degus, with a high-fiber base and a carefully considered blend of herbs such as fennel, chamomile, and sage. Great as a supplement to the basic daily diet, and practical as part of your “emergency first-aid kit” for small animals.

In short
  • Fiber-rich base (including herb-rich grassland) with selected herbs.
  • With fennel seeds, chamomile blossoms, and sage leaves.
  • Useful to give temporarily or as a regular, small supplement (see dosage).
  • For dwarf rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and degus.

Pros

High-fiber composition for a stable base in the menu
Herbal mix with fennel, chamomile and sage
Easy to dose (also with teaspoon measure)
Handy to have on hand
Suitable for multiple herbivorous rodents
Downside: it is a supplement, not a complete food and not a substitute for veterinary advice

Why GastroBalance is handy at home

In every household with small animals, there are moments when you want to provide just a little extra support in their daily diet. GastroBalance has been developed as a functional supplement to the basic diet: think of sufficient hay/roughage, suitable pellets and/or a balanced mix, plus vegetables that suit your species. The fiber base combined with herbs such as fennel, chamomile, and sage makes this product pleasant to have on hand for “spontaneous moments” when you want to add something extra to the daily routine.

Important: If you notice a clear change in appetite, behavior, or stool, or if your animal remains lethargic, it is advisable to have the cause assessed by a veterinarian. This supplement can be supportive alongside treatment and care, but it does not replace a diagnosis.

Which animals is this intended for?

  • Dwarf rabbits: as a supplement alongside hay, greens, and a suitable main food.
  • Guinea pigs: as a supplement alongside hay, vegetables, and guinea pig food with vitamin C.
  • Chinchillas: as a small addition; otherwise, keep the menu simple and high in fiber.
  • Degus: as a small supplement; keep the dosage low and combine with fiber-rich hay and a sugar-free diet.

Not intended for mice, (dwarf) hamsters, gerbils, and (dwarf) rats. There are other, more suitable dietary supplements and food choices for those animals.

Daily dosage

Use as a supplement to the usual basic diet. Convenient size: 1 teaspoon = 5 g .

Feeding period Dwarf rabbits Guinea pigs Chinchillas Degoe's
For a short period (2–3 weeks) 10–20 g 10 g 5 g 2.5 g
Permanent 5–10 g 5 g 2.5 g 1.25 g

This is how you give GastroBalance

  • Give in a separate bowl, or mix with the daily food.
  • For sensitive animals, it is better to start at the lower end of the dosage and see how your animal reacts.
  • For picky eaters, you can mix it with a little bit of something familiar (for example, through the kibble or a small portion of vegetables that suits your pet).
  • Ensure that sufficient hay/roughage is always available (this remains the fiber basis of the diet).

How long does 200 grams last?

  • Dwarf rabbit (permanently 5–10 g/day): approximately 20–40 days.
  • Guinea pig (permanently 5 g/day): approximately 40 days.
  • Chinchilla (permanent 2.5 g/day): approximately 80 days.
  • Degu (permanent 1.25 g/day): approximately 160 days.

These are calculation examples based on the recommended dosage; in practice, it depends on the chosen period and the exact amount you use.

FAQ

When do I give GastroBalance?
You can use it as a temporary supplement (for example, 2–3 weeks) or as a regular, small addition. Follow the dosage table and see what suits your animal and situation.

May I use it preventively?
Yes, that is possible as a small, fixed supplement (permanent dosage). For many animals, “small and consistent” is more pleasant than large changes.

Is it suitable for degus?
Yes, but stick strictly to the low dosage for degus. Always combine this with a high-fiber, sugar-free diet and plenty of hay.

Can I combine this with a treatment from the veterinarian?
That can often work well as a supplement, but if in doubt (especially with medication or if your animal is eating little), always consult your veterinarian.

My animal isn't eating it right away, what can I do?
Start with a small amount and mix it with something your animal is already familiar with (for example, their daily food). Many animals get used to a new scent and texture after a few days.
