Why do rabbits need a hay rack?
A hay rack is an absolute "must have" for rabbits! Every rabbit must eat enough hay every day and this is best provided through a hay rack. It is good to know that rabbits also like to poop while eating, which makes it a good idea to place a toilet under the hay rack. We can also turn it around and say that it is useful to place the hay rack above the toilet.
What is a good rabbit hay rack?
A good hay rack ensures that the rabbits have easy access to the hay, but that as little hay as possible is wasted. If we throw the hay loose in the rabbit enclosure, the rabbits will walk over it and spread the hay throughout the enclosure. They will then no longer eat this hay. This is of course a shame and that is why it is important to offer the hay in a rack.
What types of hay racks are there?
There are many different types of hay racks available. Each hay rack can be used in its own unique way. For example, one hay rack can be hung and the other can be put down.
