Long-haired Guinea pigs are beautiful to look at, but they need a lot of care. It is advisable to brush these animals every day. The long-haired breeds with curls, such as the Merino Guinea Pig, can be combed better.
One of the bottlenecks is often the ground cover. You don't want the coat to become full of small pieces of bedding that can then cause very annoying tangles. Removing the tangles is not fun for the owner and even less fun for the guinea pig to undergo.
