Product description

JR Farm Sunflower Stems – natural stems for nibbling and foraging fun

JR Farm Sunflower Stems are naturally dried sunflower stems, cut into manageable pieces and designed as a tasty activity in the enclosure. You can place them, hide them, or offer them as a snack. There are two varieties: one with herbs (great for herbivores) and one with millet and seeds (better suited to granivores). This makes it easy to choose what suits your animals' natural feeding and nibbling habits.

In short

  • 2 variants: with herbs (for herbivores) or with millet & seeds (for granivores)
  • Fun to nibble, move and use as a foraging activity
  • Supplementary nutrition: intended as an extra in addition to the daily menu
  • Handy size (20 g): ideal as a snack

Which variant suits your animal?

  • Herbed variety (grain-free): especially suitable for herbivores such as guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus. Think of a snack with plenty of "stem texture" and a spicy aroma.
  • Millet & seed version: especially suitable for granivorous animals like mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, gerbils, and rats. A fun "pick and nibble" snack that complements foraging. Also delicious for birds!

FAQ

Which variant should I choose: herbs or millet & seeds?

Choose the herb-based variety primarily for herbivores (guinea pig, rabbit, chinchilla, degu). Choose the millet and seed variety primarily for granivores (mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, gerbils, rats, and birds).

How often can I give sunflower stems?

Think of it as a treat for variety and activity. How often is appropriate depends on the overall menu and how many other snacks you provide. Variety usually works best.

Can I use this as a foraging activity?

Yes. Hide a piece under bedding, place it near a tunnel, or combine it with a sniffing area so your pet actively searches for it.
