Watchbox House with Pitched Roof 30 cm: a cosy view into your hamsterscape
The Watchbox House with Pitched Roof is a wooden observation house for small rodents that you place against the glass wall of the enclosure. Your pet gets a little house nestled in the bedding, while you can take a peek from outside. A lovely way to see what happens below the surface without lifting the house or opening up the layout.
With its pitched roof, playful viewing openings and illustrated interior details, this little house has a cosy appearance. You can use it on its own or place it on top of the Watchbox House with Flat Roof. This creates several floors and adds another layer to your underground layout.

Below the bedding, yet still partly visible
A little house surrounded by bedding usually disappears almost entirely from view. With this Watchbox, the glass wall of the enclosure becomes your viewing side. The open front sits against the glass, while the other sides can be embedded in bedding as part of the layout. This lets you create an underground space that remains visible from the front.
That makes the house a lovely addition to hamsterscaping. You can see more than the surface of your layout: you can also look into the wooden house underneath. You might see your pet going inside, moving some bedding around or arranging a little space of their own. What you get to see naturally depends on how your pet uses the house.
You can experiment with its position: let the pitched roof rise above the bedding for a recognisable little house in your scape, or embed it further for an underground look. The light wood colour fits beautifully into a natural layout and combines easily with other wooden accessories.
Several floors with the flat-roof Watchbox house
Would you like to create a larger observation house? Place the pitched-roof house on top of the Watchbox House with Flat Roof. The flat-roof house forms the lower floor, while the pitched roof gives the combination a recognisable top. This lets you extend the layout upwards while keeping the viewing side against the same glass wall.
This combination is especially lovely when you want to create several visible spaces above one another. Arrange the bedding around the houses so the floors become part of the overall layout. When planning your scape, allow for the total height of the combination. The stated dimensions of 30 × 25 × 12 cm apply to the pitched-roof house on its own.
Placement and simple assembly
The Watchbox house consists of wooden parts that fit together using a slot-together system. The parts connect through their matching slots. This makes assembly straightforward and gives the house its recognisable shape, with a straight lower section and a pitched roof.
Before adding the bedding to your scape, decide where you want your viewing spot. A position against the front glass is practical if you want a clear view of the house. Place the open viewing side against the glass, then add bedding around the house. As you arrange the layout, you can immediately see where the viewing openings sit in relation to the bedding level.
The benefit of this position is that you can watch from outside. You do not have to move the layout each time you want to see whether your pet is inside the house. Even if some bedding covers part of a viewing opening, the Watchbox remains a lovely way to reveal the underground section of your scape.
