Oat Harvest for rodents and rabbits
With Oat Harvest, you give your rodent or rabbit a natural harvest to engage with independently. The oats are still attached to the plant structure, allowing your animal to sniff, search, pluck, and nibble. This makes this harvest more fun than loose seeds or flakes in a bowl.
For small rodents such as mice, dwarf hamsters, hamsters, gerbils, and rats, harvested oats are particularly interesting as foraging enrichment. They can hold the harvest, remove the seeds from the hulls, and engage with it in their own way. Harvested oats are also suitable for larger rodents and rabbits as a supplementary natural variation alongside their normal basic diet.

Why choose Haver Oogst?
Haver Oogst is a great choice when you want to offer your animal not only a tasty treat but also something to do. Because the oats are still attached to the stalk, your animal has to explore where the interesting parts are located. This stimulates natural foraging behavior and makes feeding more varied.
For hamsterscaping and gerbilscaping , you can beautifully incorporate the oat harvest into a small field, harvest corner, or natural border planting. The stalks provide height and structure, while the oats themselves invite searching, picking, and gathering.
For larger rodents and rabbits, use harvested oats primarily as supplementary variety. The basis always remains an appropriate main food, with sufficient hay as the most important part of the daily ration for guinea pigs and rabbits.
For which animals is Haver Oogst suitable?
Haver Oogst is suitable for all rodents and rabbits as a natural supplement and enrichment. However, adjust the amount to the animal, its size, and its normal diet.
- Mice
- Dwarf hamsters
- Hamsters
- Gerbils
- Dwarf rats
- Rats
- Guinea pigs
- Chinchillas
- Degus
- Rabbits
For small seed-eating rodents, you can use harvested oats as a forage product. For herbivores such as guinea pigs, chinchillas, degus, and rabbits, it is preferable to offer it in smaller quantities as variety alongside hay, fiber-rich food, and species-appropriate herbs.
This is how you use Oat Harvest in the enclosure
You can offer the Oat Harvest in various ways. In an enclosure with a deep layer of bedding, you can place the stalks upright to create a small harvest field. You can also offer the harvest loose or incorporate it into natural landscaping.
- Carefully push the stems into a firm layer of ground cover.
- Use the oat harvest at the back or in the middle of the enclosure for extra depth.
- Form small groups for a natural field or harvest corner.
- Place a suitable loose piece down for animals that like to hold or move it.
- Combine with cork, wood, moss, sand, and other natural harvested materials.
- If necessary, use a snack clip with wire cages.
- For glass, if necessary, use a suction cup with a clamp .
- Remove parts that become wet, dirty, or less fresh.
Use per animal species
Mouse
Mice love searching, gathering, and small foraging spots. Offer Oat Harvest in small pieces or place a few stalks along a route so they can pick and investigate themselves.
Dwarf hamster
Dwarf hamsters often find harvesting materials very interesting. For example, place the oats near a sand bath area, at the back of the enclosure, or along a natural runway. This way, your dwarf hamster can search for and harvest on its own.
Hamster
Golden hamsters can actively investigate, push over, or take Oat Harvest to a stash. Use the stems as natural border planting or a foraging area in a spacious scape.
Gerbil
Gerbils enjoy digging and renovating. Therefore, place the oat harvest a little deeper in the bedding or use it as temporary enrichment. If the harvest is dug up or gnawed to pieces, this is part of their natural behavior.
Dwarf rat and rat
Dwarf rats and rats use their paws skillfully and can hold, pluck, and move the oat harvest. It is better to offer a suitable piece than too much at once, so that it remains an active enrichment moment.
Guinea pig
For guinea pigs, you can use Haver Oogst as a small, natural variation. The basis always remains hay, supplemented with suitable guinea pig food and species-appropriate herbs.
Rabbit
Rabbits may investigate and nibble on Oat Harvest as a small supplement. Give it in moderation and always offer it alongside sufficient hay and appropriate rabbit food.
Chinchilla and degu
For chinchillas and degus, it is best to offer Haver Oogst in limited quantities as natural enrichment. Keep the amount small and use it primarily as variety, not as the main daily component.
Compound
Composition: oat harvest.
Analysis: not specified.
Haver Oogst is not a complete food, but a natural supplement for animals that enjoy foraging, plucking, and engaging with their food. Precisely because the oats are still attached to the stalk, feeding becomes less predictable and more interesting.
Good to know: we fill based on appearance, not exact weight.
With our floral and harvest products, we deliberately do not look solely at weight. These products consist of natural parts such as flowers, leaves, stems, seeds, and harvest material. As a result, the weight per bunch or box may vary slightly, while the contents are appropriately filled in terms of size and appearance.
A bunch with more stems, slightly more leaves, or natural residual moisture may be heavier, but that does not automatically mean it looks more beautiful or fuller. Conversely, a lighter bunch may contain more airy ears or fine harvest material. We therefore look primarily at quality, variety, and a beautiful natural presentation.
This way, you receive a natural harvest that looks good, is pleasant to use in the enclosure, and matches the character of the product. Because these are natural products, color, structure, length, and composition may vary slightly from harvest to harvest.
Storing the Oat Harvest
Store Haver Oogst in a dark, dry, and well-ventilated place. Avoid damp areas and direct sunlight to preserve the color, aroma, and texture as much as possible. Close the packaging tightly after use.
Important to know
- This is a natural product: color, shape, length, and quantity of oats may vary per bunch.
- Preferably use the harvested oats in dry places in the enclosure.
- Remove parts that become wet, dirty, or less fresh.
- Offer harvested materials as a supplement alongside appropriate basic nutrition.
- For animals that are quick to eat, it is better to use small amounts at a time.
- For herbivores such as guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, this is an additional variation, not a staple product.
