Product description

Pet Remedy Calming Spray 15 ml for Rodents & Rabbits

Pet Remedy Calming Spray 15 ml is a compact spray for moments when your rodent or rabbit could use extra support during stress. Think of transport, a visit to the vet, a new environment, temporary restlessness, or a change in enclosure. The spray is easy to take with you and can be used on, for example, a cloth, transport box, blanket, enclosure part, or your hands.

The spray works based on the well-known Pet Remedy blend containing valerian oil, vetiver, basil, and sage, among other ingredients. Pet Remedy is designed to work with the natural calming system of animals without sedating the animal. At DRD, we use these types of products primarily as gentle support alongside proper preparation, a suitable transport crate, and a safe environment.

When do you use Pet Remedy Soothing Spray?

Pet Remedy Calming Spray is especially useful during temporary stressful moments. Many rodents and rabbits are sensitive to change. A transport crate, car ride, vet visit, move, boarding place, or new enclosure can therefore cause tension. The spray can help make the environment smell more familiar and calmer.

Do not use the spray as a substitute for proper care or a calm environment. An animal that is anxious, sick, short of breath, in pain, or noticeably different from normal for an extended period requires appropriate care. Always contact a veterinarian if in doubt.

How do you use the spray safely?

Preferably do not spray suddenly directly on your animal. The sound of the spray and the unexpected touch can actually startle it. Therefore, use the spray on a cloth, rug, transport box, enclosure, or in your hands. Let it spread for a moment before your animal comes near it.

Situation Practical application
Transport Spray lightly onto a cloth or rug in the transport box beforehand. Let the scent soak in for a moment before putting your animal inside.
Veterinary visit Use the spray on a trusted cloth that goes along in the transport box.
New environment Spray lightly onto a cloth or part of the enclosure, not directly onto food, water, or bedding where the animal digs immediately.
On your hands Spray a small amount on your hands, rub it in, and let it evaporate briefly before calmly approaching your animal.

What is the spray particularly useful for?

  • Transport to the vet or sitter
  • Getting used to a new transport box
  • A move or new residence
  • Temporary unrest in the house
  • A new layout or change in the accommodation
  • Approach sensitive animals more calmly

Always use gently and in moderation. For small animals, less often is sufficient. Do not spray in a small, enclosed space without ventilation, and ensure your animal can always move away from the scent if it wishes.

For which animals is Pet Remedy Calming Spray suitable?

  • Mouse: suitable for subtly supporting the environment or transport box during temporary stress. Use sparingly and never spray directly on the animal.
  • Dwarf hamster: suitable for use during transport or changes of location. Spray onto a cloth or transport box and let it evaporate briefly before your animal enters.
  • Hamster: suitable for transport, vet visits, or a new environment. Always use the spray indirectly and gently.
  • Gerbil: suitable as environmental support during temporary stress. Do not use on sand baths, food, water, or deep digging areas.
  • Dwarf rat: suitable for transport or turbulent situations. Dwarf rats can vary in sensitivity, so start with a small amount.
  • Rat: suitable as support during transport, vet visits, or temporary changes. For example, spray onto a cloth in the transport box.
  • Guinea pig: suitable for transport, vet visits, new environments, or temporary stress. Use on a cloth, rug, or transport box.
  • Rabbit: suitable for transport, fireworks-like restlessness, vet visits, or adjusting to a new situation. Always ensure a calm, safe environment.
  • Chinchilla: suitable as subtle environmental support, but use with extra caution and not in the sand bath or in places where the animal rolls intensively.
  • Degoe: suitable for temporary stressful moments, such as transport or change. Use indirectly and in moderation.

Do not spray directly on the animal

We advise against using the spray directly on the animal suddenly. Many rodents and rabbits are easily startled by noise, changes in scent, or unexpected touch. Therefore, spray on your hands, a cloth, a rug, or the transport box first.

Do you want to use the scent on your hands? Then spray a small amount on your hands, rub it in well, and wait briefly. Then approach your animal calmly. Always avoid the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, open wounds, and sensitive skin.

Compound

Pet Remedy contains a blend based on valerian oil with small amounts of vetiver, sweet basil, and clary sage. The spray is water-based and intended for use in the animal's vicinity.

Because scent perception varies from animal to animal, it is advisable to start with a small amount for the first use. Observe how your animal reacts and only use the spray when your animal responds calmly and normally.

Good to know

Pet Remedy is intended as support for temporary tension. It is not a medicine and does not resolve the cause of stress on its own. Therefore, always consider the situation as well: is the transport crate suitable, is the enclosure in a quiet location, is there sufficient shelter, and can your animal retreat?

Do not use the spray on feed, drinking water, wet vegetables, hay, or snack material. Also, do not use it in sand baths or dust baths. Keep the spray out of reach of children and animals.

Frequently asked questions about Pet Remedy Calming Spray

What do you use Pet Remedy Soothing Spray for?

You use the spray as support during temporary stressful moments, such as transport, a visit to the vet, a new environment, or restlessness at home.

Can I spray the spray directly on my rodent or rabbit?

We advise against doing that. The spraying sound and the sudden scent can be startling. It is better to use the spray on a cloth, rug, transport box, or your hands.

Can I use the spray in a transport box?

Yes, that is a nice application. Spray lightly onto a cloth or rug in the transport box and let it soak in briefly before putting your animal in.

Is Pet Remedy a sedative?

No, Pet Remedy is intended to support calmness without sedating the animal. The animal should remain alert and responsive.

Is the spray suitable for rabbits?

Yes, the spray can be used for rabbits as environmental support during temporary stress. Use indirectly and always ensure a calm, safe environment.

Is the spray suitable for hamsters?

Yes, but use very little and always indirectly. For example, spray on a cloth or on the transport box, not directly on your hamster.

Can I use the spray on hay, feed, or water?

No, do not spray on food, water, hay, vegetables, or snacks. Use the spray only on suitable environmental materials such as a cloth, rug, or transport box.

What if my animal is sick, short of breath, or extremely anxious?

In that case, contact a veterinarian. A calming spray is supportive in cases of tension, but not a substitute for medical help or behavioral advice.

How much should I use?

Start with a little. Small animals have a much smaller living space and are sensitive to smell. Always observe how your animal reacts.
