Product description

Dried Lavender Harvest for natural scaping

With Dried Lavender Harvest, you give your small rodent's enclosure a beautiful, floral look. The dried lavender flowers are wonderful to use as a natural accent in a hamsterscape, gerbilscape, or thematically decorated enclosure.

Lavender stands out with its purple flower hues and recognizable aromatic scent. You can place the stems upright in the ground cover for a small flower cluster, or incorporate them subtly around a house, sand area, cork tunnel, or platform. This way, you add color, fragrance, and texture to the enclosure.

  • Beautiful for hamsterscaping, gerbilscaping, and floral themes.
  • Provides color, height, and a recognizable spicy scent
  • Nice to place as a small bunch of flowers in the ground cover.

Advantages of Dried Lavender Harvest

Beautiful as a purple floral accent among wood, cork, moss, and sand
Ideal for creating height and depth in the enclosure
Stimulates sniffing, discovering, and natural exploratory behavior
Beautiful for photos, seasonal scapes, and natural-themed enclosures

Why choose Dried Lavender Harvest?

Dried lavender is a beautiful choice when you want to make an enclosure more natural, floral, and atmospheric. The purple flowers instantly add color to the scape, while the stems provide height and structure. Lavender really comes into its own, especially in combination with light ground cover, sand, cork, moss, and wood.

Hamster and gerbil scaping is not just about decoration, but also about how your animal uses the enclosure. New scents and textures can encourage sniffing, investigating, and exploring. Therefore, you can use lavender as a floral accent along a pathway, at the back of the enclosure, or near a quiet hiding spot.

The scent of lavender can be quite noticeable at first. Therefore, it is better to use small amounts at a time, especially with animals that are sensitive to strong scents. Do you find the scent still very intense yourself? Then let the lavender sit in a dry, well-ventilated place for a few days before using it in the enclosure.

For which animals is Dried Lavender Harvest suitable?

This dried lavender is especially suitable as natural decoration and sniffing enrichment for small rodents who like to explore their enclosure.

  • Mice
  • Dwarf hamsters
  • Hamsters
  • Gerbils
  • Dwarf rats
  • Rats as natural decoration and enrichment

For guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and degus, the basis lies primarily in hay, fiber-rich food, and species-appropriate herbs. Use flowers and harvested materials for these animals only as a small supplement and not as a staple food.

This is how you use lavender in the enclosure

You can incorporate the Dried Lavender Harvest into a natural setting in various ways. Use a few stems for a subtle accent or place several stems together for a fuller bouquet.

  • Carefully push the stems into a firm layer of ground cover.
  • Use lavender at the back or side of the enclosure for extra depth.
  • Combine with cork, wood, moss, sand, or other natural harvested materials.
  • Create small flower zones along a route, by a cottage, or next to a sand bath.
  • It is better to use small amounts at a time when the scent is still clearly present.
  • Remove stems that become wet, dirty, or less fresh.
  • Check regularly whether hard or sharp pieces have formed due to breakage.

Use per animal species

Mouse

Mice love shelter, pathways, and small spots to explore. Place lavender in small groups along runways or near a small house to create a flowery corner where they can scurry and sniff around.

Dwarf hamster

Dwarf hamsters appreciate quiet zones and clear structures. Use lavender, for example, near a sand bath, behind a cork tunnel, or as a purple floral accent in a natural scape.

Hamster

Golden hamsters enjoy investigating new materials and may move or knock over stems. Therefore, plant the lavender firmly in the bedding and use it primarily as decorative enrichment along a pathway or at the back of the enclosure.

Gerbil

Gerbils dig and rearrange a lot. Preferably, place lavender somewhat more firmly and deeper in the bedding, or use it as temporary landscaping decoration. If it is dug up or destroyed, that is part of their natural behavior.

Dwarf rat and rat

Dwarf rats and rats are curious and enjoy exploring new scents and textures. Use lavender, for example, in a sniffing corner, on a platform, or as natural decoration near foraging material.

Compound

Composition: dried lavender.

Lavender and scent in the accommodation

Lavender is known for its aromatic scent. Many people find this scent pleasant, and it is often used in the home and garden due to its spicy, floral fragrance. In an animal enclosure, it is important to handle this gently, as small rodents have sensitive noses.

Therefore, use dried lavender as a small, natural addition and not as an overpowering fragrance. Lavender is not a substitute for good hygiene, regular inspection of the enclosure, or appropriate measures for parasites. Do you suspect your animal is suffering from mites, lice, fleas, or other parasites? Then contact a veterinarian for the proper approach.

Please note: use only dried lavender in the enclosure. Fresh lavender has a stronger scent and contains more moisture. For small rodents, dried lavender is therefore the better choice as a natural landscaping addition.

Good to know: we fill based on appearance, not exact weight.

With our flower and harvest mixes, we deliberately do not look solely at weight. These products consist of natural parts such as flowers, leaves, stems, seeds, and harvest material. As a result, the weight per bunch or box may vary slightly, while the contents are appropriately filled in terms of size and appearance.

A bunch with more stems, slightly more leaves, or natural residual moisture may be heavier, but that does not automatically mean it is more beautiful or floriferous. Conversely, a lighter bunch may contain more airy flowers or delicate flower stems. Therefore, we look primarily at quality, variety, and a beautiful natural presentation.

This way, you receive a natural harvest that looks good, is pleasant to use in the enclosure, and matches the character of the product. Because these are natural products, color, structure, length, and composition may vary slightly from harvest to harvest.

Storing dried lavender

Store dried lavender in a dry, dark, and well-ventilated place. Avoid damp rooms and direct sunlight to preserve the color, scent, and texture as much as possible. Close the packaging tightly after use.

Important to know

  • This is a natural product: color, scent, shape, length, and structure may vary from bunch to bunch.
  • Preferably use lavender in dry areas of the enclosure.
  • Use small amounts at a time when the scent is still clearly present.
  • Use only dried lavender in the enclosure.
  • Remove flowers or stems that become wet, dirty, or less fresh.
  • Dried stems can be brittle; check regularly for loose or sharp pieces.
  • Use flowers and harvested materials as a supplement alongside appropriate basic nutrition.

Frequently Asked Questions about Dried Lavender Harvest

Can I use lavender for hamsterscaping?

Yes, Dried Lavender Harvest is very suitable for hamsterscaping. The purple flower stalks add color, height, and a natural look to the enclosure.

Is lavender suitable for gerbilscaping?

Yes, you can also use lavender for gerbilscaping. Keep in mind that gerbils like to dig and move materials. Therefore, place the stems firmly or use them as temporary gerbil decoration.

May I use fresh lavender in the enclosure?

No, it is better not to use fresh lavender in the enclosure. Fresh lavender has a stronger scent and contains more moisture. For aquascaping and natural decoration, preferably use dried lavender.

Is lavender intended to combat parasites?

No, do not use lavender for parasite control. Lavender has a recognizable scent and can be used as a natural fragrance and landscaping additive, but it does not replace a clean enclosure, proper check-ups, or veterinary advice regarding parasites.

What can I do if the lavender scent is too strong?

Let the lavender sit in a dry, well-ventilated place for a few days before using it in the enclosure. You can also start with a small amount and see how your animal reacts.

Is Dried Lavender Harvest Intended for Eating?

You use lavender primarily as natural decoration and for sensory enrichment. Some animals will nibble on it or investigate it. Always offer it as a supplement alongside an appropriate basic diet.

Why can every forest look slightly different?

Dried lavender is a natural product. Color, length, volume, fragrance, and flower structure may vary from harvest to harvest. We therefore assess primarily based on appearance, quality, and natural presentation.

What is the best way to store dried lavender?

Store lavender in a dry, dark, and well-ventilated place. Avoid moisture and direct sunlight so that the natural flowers and stems remain as beautiful as possible.

Mooie verse bossen lavendel. Ideaal om paar takjes steeds in het terrarium van mijn syrische hamster te doen. Het houd mijt weg . Mijn hamster is er zelfs zo dol op dat het een paar takjes in zijn verblijf stopt. Hij slaapt er lekker op!

Mooie bos even lange stelen. Ruikt lekker en leuk om kleur aan de kooi toe te voegen. Nog niet aan mijn hamster gegeven, maar ziet er veel belovend uit!
